Straight from http://www.gamingsteve.com, who acquired the info at the Gaming Developers Conference;

Well, this has me pretty happy. On the other hand, it means I need to start saving up NOW...and I was already saving up for next Otakon...oh, cruel yet tasty fate! Why dost thou torment me so??

You do realize that mobile games are little more than bare fractions of the original, right?

Personally, I don't give a darn about the mobile games, I'm getting the PC version. I'm just glad that they're possibly aiming for a 2006 release.

gamespot listed Spore's release date as Q3 2006 for the longest time

Well, yeah, but I don't trust Gamespot as far as I can throw them. And it's fairly common for a preliminary release date to be pushed back, no?
