Wouldn't you think the producer would have some idea though? and "It would cover the 20 years in the life of Luke Skywalker growing up" kind of sounds like it does mean 20 years of following Luke.. though I really hope you're right.

I COULD be told from the point of view of Luke watching it on the Holonet, listening to stories in the Catina, and even having visions in the force.

But I agree, BAD FUCKING IDEA

Not McCallum, I need only look at his interview-history to know he either doesn't have a clue or if he has, then he certainly doesn't show it.

It's also been said over and over again that the Live-Action series will have no major characters from the movies. Only the animated CW series will have that.

Color me unimpressed.

There's SO much more to explore in the SW galaxy. We don't need to see this.

Frankly, I'm more interested in this:
Star Wars creator George Lucas has just completed writing the script for the next Indiana Jones film and will then begin work on Red Tails, about African-American pilots in World War II.
Edited cause I felt like it.

This seems like a horrible idea. The Hero's Journey of Luke Skywalker is significant precisely because he had a boring and benign existance as a kid and a farmer before the events of ANH. I can't imagine the contrived shit they'll try to do with a sixteen year old Luke going on "adventures" when at eighteen he can't get a pass to go to the Academy and he's afraid his Uncle will whoop his ass for being out for a few hours to look for droids and chat with Ben Kenobi, much less even go to Mos Eisley.

Its stupid.

If its not that, then well its nothing new from what we've heard before.

I resent that.

Tattoine would be more the equivalent of Buttfuck, Wyoming. Or should I say Wind-Induced-Suicide, Wyoming...

Neverthemind that "intergalactic" means "between galaxies." :P

Ah well perhaps his uncle cracked down on him when he was 18 because of everything he'd done when he was 16... of course it will kind of conflict with his comments about how boring his life is, if by the time of ANH he's saved 18 people, 3 towns, 2 ships and a planet while he was growing up

Though that alternative is better than the soap options. The Young and the Jedi. Episode 16. In this dramatic episode, Luke is accused of cheating at school, which embarrasses him in front of the love of his life, Leena.

The article doesn't say that it'll be about Luke Skywalker, only that it would cover the 20-year gap between ROTS and ANH. There's already a thread (less than a week old) about this:
Star Wars - The Series - Time between ROTS and ANH

EDIT: Vympel had already pointed out the time gap issue. Sorry.
