ISD Weaponry

Post by Jim Raynor »

I need some info for SW Wiki. Can anyone tell me what the approximate size (light/medium/heavy) of the ISD I's hangar defense guns is supposed to be?

Also, is there any G-canon (no WEG BS) info about all the different types of guns on the ISD-II? Saxton points out the main turrets, heavy trench guns, axial defense guns, and hangar defenses on the ISD-I, but the only thing he says about the ISD-II is that its main turrets are different and that it lacks the trench guns. Am I to assume that the ISD-II has identical known weaponry, besides the two differences I just mentioned? :?

The hanger defense guns are usually considered medium guns, which if you read the source you provided it seems Saxton is of the same opinion considering he mentions them with the axial defense guns which are medium TLs, and that he calls them large.
As far as on-screen evidence goes you can asume correctly. Most people do tend to take the WEG stats as providing numbers on PD TLs which is reinforced by the fact that in the EGtW&T the TLs and ion cannons said to be mounted 60 a piece on ISDs, and if you look at the size of the turrets being about the size of an X-wing, it does seem to suggest that an ISD-I carries 60 LTLs and 60 LICs.
