Wow, that thing is tiny.

Either that or they have a giant hand model to betray the scale.

The console *is* slightly bigger than the last showing of it, that's been confirmed elsewhere by people on the show floor.

Vympel....honestly, you have to hold one of these things to judge it. The possibilities of a wireless gyroscopic 3d mouse (which doesn't need large sweeping movements to work) haven't hit home yet? The only possible thing wrong there is the ergonomics of the remote.

It still looks nowhere close to the size of an Xbox to me, check out the size of the USB ports on the back of it.

Does indeed seem to be about the size of three DVD cases.

And what the heck is that guy actually holding up to the glass in several of those pictures?

I don't recall any mention of USB ports before. I wonder what they are for.

So...sexy...

God I want that thing in my bedroom. I don't care if it only plays Tetris, that controller looks like the best thing since sliced bread.

He already says here that they're waiting until E3.

Nintendo fanboys have been saying this for months, without realizing that many of us are quite familiar with a gyroscopic mouse in a 3D environment as the Gyration line of mice have been availible for years and are an excellent design as far as these things go.

I'm still dubious. I've tried using a Gyration mouse in 3D games and I was not impressed at all, even after customising the game to respond better the the limits of the gyroscope movements.

I don't know how anyone can say this will be the best thing since sliced bread without having significant experience with gaming using a Gyration or similar mouse.

Well, he revealed new info about the Virtual Console and Zelda DS, so I'm happy :D

Kernel; I'm hoping Nintendo will overcome those limits. Can the gyration mouse detect depth (distance from the screen and whether you move forward or backwards) as well? (legitamite question, I'm not sure) The pointer ability is also very cool, it's like a light gun on steroids.

But anyway, if I get in to E3 I'll find out first hand...:)

Is that the SNES/N64/GCN A/V port that I see?

I also hope that it is easy to re-center, that was my #1 gripe with the N64 and GCN controllers, the sticks center was wherever it was when the system was on.

Um, the N64 and GameCube sticks were easy to reset, IIRC.

I don't see what's the big deal about the AV port, either, since it's been stated for quite some time that the Revolution wouldn't be HD.

What worries me is the fact that it looks like it's designed to stand vertically first and foremost. Isn't that a big disc-killing mistake?
This has been another blunder by you friendly local idiot.

My PS2 has been standing vertically for five years, and it has never killed a disc.

I was under the impression the gyration line was primarily designed for presentations and such, not the sort fine control needed for gaming.

It certainly looks like the same AV port Nintendo's been using for years now.
