migrains of heartburn

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

ok, if I don't drink coffee I get withdrawl migraines
if I do I get really bad heartburn
last couple of days the pain's been unbareable.
so besides chemical modifications any suggestions to my diet that might help ease the pain?

oh and which should I give up (i've taken to drinking my coffee as cold lattes (no sugar), because the milk helps insulate it some)

I'm no doctor, but withdrawl migranes eventually pass. Heart burn likely will persist as long as you have coffee, and may even damage your tissues.

I would choose to endure a week or so of migranes, wean myself off coffee, and avoid both problems in the future. Just bring along pain killers, and don't plan too much loud and/or bright activities.

"That is correct!"

"How do you plan for that?"

"Uh... lucky guess?"

You could always switch to tea.

Or cola. Then slowly cut back over time. It isn't the coffee itself that is preventing the migraines, it is the caffeine acting as a vasodialator. As long as you get the caffeine you should theoretically be okay.

I avoid caffeine entirely myself. I don't want withdrawl migraines, plus it makes me kind of drowsy so I don't see the point.
