That one's new to me. My game likes to puke on me when loading areas (usually going from outside into a shop). I had some changes to the config file (cache increase and thread counts) that were probably the cause of the problem, and using the default ini has fixed that issue so far, but it still wants to crash on exit.

I take jewelry and gold. Maybe a weapon or armor if it's going to fetch a good price. Mostly just to let them know that someone was there.

With 64k+, I don't really need to steal anymore... but I have to get around to those Thieves Guild missions, y'know.

And silverware. Silver Knives & Forks have a good gold/weight ratio.

I've found that using mastered alchemy to produce potions from large quantities of stolen ingredients is a good way to generate money.

Does anyone want to help me test a few mods? I'm interested to see how much clipping I get letting people wear pants under robes (so far I've only noticed a slight bit of clipping on the knees when walking) and the armour/weapon weights are retarded so I'm changing them. Shame there's only two types of 'regular' light armour: you're pretty much doomed to mithril almost straight away. And 28 pound swords? Any volunteers?

That's strange, since 87% of everything I make is lame stamina potions out of fruit, meat etc. Maybe the specialisation makes a significant difference in this case?
Possibly.

Okay everyone, list the mods you are running with.

Everburn Torchs
Gem price fix(Hey stark, you'll love this)
Brighter Torchs(just for fun)
Alchemy Perks fix(stackable perks go up as skill incrases)
Light Alchemy Ingridients fix(because carrying 28 rat meat is no fun when they all weigh 1)
Max Carrying Capacity mod(because I'm heavy armour and not enjoying it)
and a Skingard cottage I havn't seen yet.

If you're looking for realism in weight I think it would also be fair to reduce max carry weight. A two-handed sword doesn't way 30 pounds, but by the same token, a guy can't carry 400 pounds of gear.

I'm currently using a mix of lighter item mods and a more carry, I'm not sure how heavy Heavy Armour realisticly was but I'm guessing it didn't take up 80% of someones carry capacity.

My paladin carries more non-armour gear than my assassin - are you trying to wear heavy armour on a non-strength build?

I'm wearing heavy armour on a char who is a battlemage with lots of Strength(IMO) and Endurence. I probebly fucked up my stats somewhere.

A good realism mod would have some kind of pack animal which carries your heavy gear when you travel around and fatigue should drop way faster if you jump around in heavy armor like a rabbit or swing a sword like a madman.

Yeah, saddlebags would be much better than the 'ring of feather 1000' mods that have cropped up.

For armour, I'm not really interested in lowering weights so much as making them more sensible: chain weighing 20% of steel is just stupid. Weapons are of course currently absurd, but I've never played a high-strength character so I don't know how high the weight allowance goes. Frankly, I don't really consider weight limitations a significant part of the game, and carrying half a dozen swords is not impossible.

I'm currently dragging around a Iron/Steel heavy armour set, with the Arena armour untill I find a house to drop it in(or can I take a new one from the Arena?). That, plus a sword and bow, brings me nearly to max, with something like less then 50 weight to spare for trinkets.

There's a shack on the Waterfront in Imperial City for 2000 gold. That's the cheapest you'll find.

Me, I've got +20 to Strength with a couple items I wear all the time, so my total carrying capacity is somewhere above 400 pounds. I usually have about 300 pounds of supplies on me (lots of arrows, alchemy supplies, and a few magical tools for spirits) with ~150 pounds of carying capacity.

I really meant that in reality, you could simply bundle up several weapons and throw them over your shoulder. :)

What is the formula for strength to load? I've been over 300ish, but my real problem is things like 'orc curiass weighs more than entire glass plate' thing. :)

EDIT - You asked for it, my mods list.

Darker Nights (a bit darker)
Darker Dungeons (pitch fucking black)
Faster arrows and spells
camera mods
brighter torches
no annoying messages
no psychic guards
unlock eyes, hair, armour
change fatigue-stamina, blunt-hafted
guild storage
remove enchantment glow

I decided to walk all the way to Weyoun Priory- man that was fun- I cleaned out Fort Nikel and Fort Ash, got waylaid by a Highwayman, all that shit.

I stopped at the Tavern just across the bridge from Imperial City- great atmosphere.

One thing though- I got the slaughterfish scale quest- but how the fuck am I supposed to kill slaughterfish when the water is so brown you can't see anything? And where do I find the damn slaughterfish anyway? I got so frustrated I went to Weyoun Priory without doing it. I'll have to go back and do it later ...

Mods I'm running:

1. Auryn Levels (looks to be the best of the leveling mods)
2. Deadlier Sneaking (the multiplier keeps increasing to 8x, 10, 12x)
3. Khajit Night-eye toggle (the khajit see-in-the-dark power is an on-off toggle instead of a 30 second power)
4. No More Annoying Messages
5. No Psychic Guards Harder (I highly recommend this one)
6. Steel Item Mod (Promising mod that makes steel equipment much better, while fantastic materials like daedric are only slightly better, and much more rare)
7. Tuxedo Arena Modification (A tweak I made to the arena mod. I liked the concept of the arena mod, but didn't like the fact that the first pit dog opponent was level 8. So I set the first fighter to level 1 and went from there)

A mod that I'd like to be running, but no one's made yet, is one that drastically reduces health, particularly per-level health gain. I'm not exactly enamored with hacking away for 30 minutes on some guy's face before he finally croaks, nor am I particularly fond of the fact that I can sometimes happily ignore an attacker while I do something else because his attacks don't do shit, nor am I singing the praises of the fact that heal spells have so little effect.

I'd like to make this mod, but I don't know how to adjust the formula. I know it can be done because I've seen several leveling mods that did it.

I also would like to know how to mess with someone's inventory in the Construction Set, because all I can see how to do is delete items, not add or edit them.

Done. The arena mod I linked to is the basic one, not the one that I tweaked, but if you search around on the tessource site, you'll find another arena scaling mod that's almost identical to the one I did. If I'd have known about that mod yesterday, I wouldn't have bothered tweaking the one I linked to.

I have this for my 360. I love the game. LOVE IT. However.... I do have an issue with the constant 'loading' it does when I travel outside cities.

Is that also an issue for PCers?

Less, and also non interupting, it streams in new areas.

Much, much less. On my PC (not exactly a killer gaming rig), I wouldn't even have known it loaded a new area if it didn't tell me.

Eh, terrain detail and structures tend to pop in rather abruptly at a zone-load, but otherwise, it's quite smooth.

Mods:

Oblivion INI tweaker utility (not actually a Mod)
Robes over Armor
Better Water
Feletheus Aspar [Merchant]
All Armors

The Robes over Armor Mod has the interesting side effect of putting just about every NPC in the game who's supposed to be wearing a robe in their underwear. Everyone at the Arcane University is walking around in their skivvies. The INI tweaker is a utility that you run that will enable or disable some options found in the INI file, such as enabling screenshots, without you having to go through and find the lines of text yourself.
