I loved TS and got Firestorm too, not played in a while, but used to have plenty of games with school mates years back over my crappy 56k modem. RA was the first step I took in the C&C universe which I got around December '96 for my birthday and quite simply fell in love. I never did get RA2 or the second expansion for RA after the Aftermath one. I also had Tiberian Dawn too, though it screwed my sound up for a while, I recall it was a pain finding out how to fix it when I wanted to go see the Special Editions of SW in the cinema.
I don't know, I never got RA2 because it was corny and intentionally comic book like compared to the serious original. It somewhat put me off being so tongue-in-cheek, though I heard friends having plenty of great LAN games I missed out on.
Of course, Kane lives on, for he is a motherfucker who will not stay dead.
I'd recommend Generals too, even if it is only C&C in name, it was still enjoyable, if not with the same atmosphere as the true C&C franchise.
Stark wrote:Well, I hate everything. C&C was uninspired, I never played any of the Red Alerts, and Tiberium Sun had 20mm cannon with a range of about fifteen metres.
Renegade, of course, was a terrible shooter.
So you hate an entire franchise you've hardly played and are now resorting to nitpicking in game physics
in an RTS with bases built in minutes?!
Par for the course for Stark.
