"Camera Hack" for GTA Vice City

Post by Lord Poe »

Has anyone ever used the "Camera Hack" mod for Vice City? If so, any tips would be great.

Free look is great. It takes some getting used to, but if you're in the mood for any scenic shots, it's your friend.

Take these three shots, for instance. Note they're from the GTA: Liberty City mod, but I got them using VC Cam Hack.

Yes, it does come in handy.

One word of advice: sometimes when changing from free-look back to normal camera mode, it freezes the game. It might be because I'm using a mod, or it may just be my computer. But either way what I found to work best if I want shots from far distant places is to Alt-Tab out of VC and change the Camera Fly Speed (under Control Settings) to really high to get in the general area of where I want to be, then shift it way back down as I adjust it to get to the right spot.

Also of use are the various weather cheats, as well as the speed up/slow down time cheats, if you're interested in the ambiance of it all (like what I did with the sunrise shot).

Man...something else for me to waste precious time on!

Does this camera hack work well with Fraps?

I don't think I've heard of it, but then it is possible I'm crazy. Is it bigger than a breadbasket?

Ooohhh... I don't know, never tried it. But I do have a video here that says Fraps was used along with VC Cam Hack in the creation of said video, so I'll hazard the guess that it does.
