oh yeah, I've also used CT Operative which I still sometimes use at counterstrike whenever I get around to playing it and p.redator for another site and a couple games after predator was taken. I will use ArmorPierce (which I have been using for a few years now, a lot especially starting within the last year)from now on except for a few places like games when I want to be a wizard or a king or something.

I've always gone by 'Enlightenment' on SF and 3D CGI boards. On railfan sites I used my initials. Everywhere else I just use my real name.

Hyperion (acquired from the Hyperion series of books, like the name, sounded cool, so i used it, found out 3 years later that it was the name of one of the more interesting Titans so that made it even cooler.) *used for the last 6-7 years.*
Thanatos/Thenatos (god of death for one of the meditteranean nations, liked that part and the way it sounds so i use this one once in a while, but everyone knows me by Hyperion so it's not in widespread use yet.)
Osiris (ancient Egyptian god of death, like it just cause of that, and the fact i like ancient Egypt, i also like the way it sounds. generally used for playername on computer games, though i don't live up to it very much...)
Braedan (name of a character in a series of CGIs done by someone online, liked the way i interpreted the pronunciation and i like the character so i kinda kyped this one, not really integrated much online, yet...though there is a definate persona with this one.)

Well, for this board, spacebattles.com its this name DG_Cal_Wright.
DG stands for Dark Guard which is the 'clan' I'm in and have been for about four years now.
Cal Wright is short for Califerous Wright which I made up. It's my Star Wars character for the now defunct AoL chat sims. On any ezboard it would be just Califerous Wright, which is what the DG sees. Since I am a DG, it doesn't have to be there.
what's so great is it isn't my real name, but people still think it is.

Started out as Totonka80 on AOL, Totonka meaning "Buffalo" in Lakota (I had just seen Dances With Wolves and it suited me well ). Changed it to EnsTonks after I joined a Star Trek sim group. Lost that when we cancelled AOL for a bit. We picked it up again later on where I became Tiny11380 for years (still am, to this day). An interesting coincidence is that my birthdate (11/3/80) is similar to Lucas's first film (THX-1138). A few people on the SW message boards thought exactly that too
Anyway, my usual handle everywhere is Dalton. I'm quite fond of my surname, but the first person to suggest I got it out of Chrono Trigger gets a beating

Well, this is the only place I've posted, so Zaia is pretty much it. If any of you missed it, I got the name from a spirit named Q (well, his name was longer, but we just called him 'Q') when some friends were using a Ouija board on a band trip in Memphis, TN. I wasn't even on the board and Q just kept talking about me, saying how I was special, etc etc, and it gave me the title 'Zaia.' Not quite sure how much of that story I believe myself and I was there...

I have tons of other nicknames, but they don't fall under the topic, so that's all.

Way back when I first started posting on ASVS (using Deja.com then Remarq), I posted as "Dogmeat." When I used to play the WEG Star Wars RPG, I had a pilot, and during my initiation into a squadron, the squadron assigned the newbies callsigns. My character was a punk-ass brat, and the GM, a big fan of Top Gun, had the pilots assign me the callsign Dogmeat, from the line, "You're dogmeat, pal." So, that stuck for a bit, and my first AOL screen name was Dogmeat33.
Then I pretty much got sick of it. It didn't sound very good after a while.
Around this time, I got really into a game called Marathon. The game was a first-person shooter around the DOOM era that kicked DOOM's ass all over the virtual playground in terms of playability and plot line – Marathon was the first FPS where you could look up and down. Basically, you were the character being guided by an artificial intelligence called Leela to perform various tasks which would save the colony ship Marathon, which had been invaded by hostile alien forces.
Along the way, another of the three AI's on Marathon got a hold of your character. This AI was Durandal. He had gone rampant, meaning that his program was expanding at an exponential rate and he was gaining more and more knowledge. Soon, the Marathon's memory wouldn't be able to contain his program. Durandal played around a lot with the main character, dropping him off in various locations and basically sasying "Stay alive, if you can." I liked Durandal. He was an extremely interesting character. Marathon was done by Bungie Software back in 1994, before the dark times. Before the Microsoft buyout. The Marathon trilogy was a cult classic, and Halo is linked to Marathon in some way that Bungie has not yet revealed. So, I adopted my AOL screen name of Durandal64. 64 because I wanted my screen name to be ready for the inevitable transition to 64-bit computing.
My avatar was the picture that came up whenever you interfaced with a Tycho terminal. Tycho was the other of the three AI's. He basically went insane and rampant, and he and Durandal would frequently argue. Durandal stopped talking to Tycho for a period of a few hundred years at one point.
The original Durandal was the sword of Count Roland. Roland broke the sword because he used it to slaughter the Moores, and I guess he felt guilty. Durandal's interface picture was just a green Marathon symbol, and I've considered switching my avatar to it just for consistency, but I really like Tycho's interface symbol.

Back in my ol' simming days, it was Cap'n John. Because I was a 12-year-old douchebag.
Then I moved to Cyrax, because I played UMK3 like a freak for about a year and I was best with him.
After that came Ragnarok, my UO character's name
Then Karnaj, my EQ character's name.
Presently I use two usernames: Alferd Packer, the first man ever to be convicted of cannibalism in the U.S., here, and Anus McGee just about everywhere else, because I just don't give a fuck anymore.

Durendal (Both spellings are acceptable) was never broken; Roland tried to break it against a standing stone to keep the dirty unworthy infidels from getting their hands on it, it wouldn't break, and Charlemagne recovered it and gave it to one of Roland's kinsmen, IIRC.Durandal wrote: The original Durandal was the sword of Count Roland. I picked this name out for myself about 4 years ago: I'd had a nervous breakdown and it was how I was feeling at the time. It's been my chat name for so long that it's become comfortable and natural even though the feelings which led me to choose it are gone, so I just use the closest variation I can get on whatever new forum or chat I go to. I've used it on Excite, MSN, SpaceBattles and now here.

Lets see. I was Namllotc on AOL's Babylon 5 board for a couple of years until JMS and most of the cast stopped posting there and the board was mostly neglected by whoever was runing it at the time.
I lost that name for 6 months when I switched accounts. I have it back now but it's basically inactive.
Namllotc, like my current screen name Tsyroc is part of my name spelled backwards.
I also went by Cory on the Cinescape boards for awhile. Mostly before Fandom bought them and changed everything. I looked at the boards there once since Fandom crashed and burned and someone else bought the magazine.

Real life, it's a bitch. I barely get to post on ASVS either. I'm here for hopefully another 5 days then I go away for 4 days but should be back before Xmas. Sn0m4n is l33t for Snowman, which was originally Evil Snoman from an America's Funniest Videos clip showing a snowman getting its head blown off by a cannon. The host was narrating something to the effect of "I AM EVIL SNOWMAN!! I"M GONNA TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND--" cannon goes off *BOOM!!!!!!!!!* Then I realized that cold weather doesn't bother me a bit so I took the name Evil Snoman. Then I played Einhander and started fancying myself a l33t h4x0r and there ya go.
