Konfounded!

Post by CorSec »

I was reminded in this thread of something I adored in OS X. Namely, the Dashboard. I went dorky for those little widgety things. I must have downloaded a hundred of those useless but necessary little dohickeys.

That was about a year ago, now. I went looking for a Windows version of it and didn't have much success. Oh, sure, some enterprising individual had created something that emulated it, but it was something one had to purchase to enjoy.

I went looking for it again and found it. Now it's free, but (and I'm sorry for the but) it's been taken over by Yahoo!. (It was, and by old-timers I guess still is, called Konfabulator.)

Does anyone else use it? Anyone else ever heard of it? Is there something lurking beneath the glossy PNG that will destroy my computer and all my beloved porn? I mean music?

I use gDesklets from time-to-time, but currently my wallpaper makes them a pain to read clearly, so I just stick to GKrellM.

They use a fair bit of RAM, but they're fun. I've normally got a few on at work, but I use Firefox entensions & Rainmeter at home.
My wife went to Vorbarr Sultana and all I got was this bloody shopping bag.
