A chinese dragon, which makes it a god. So you're actually reaching out across national borders and beliefs to spread your word.

Hey, Rob, you're back! What happened?

My history's been pretty simple, anyway. I started off back in '98 or so as Crazpe9745(an AOL-generated screenname, go figure). Later, I decided to change it to Cray9000, but someone had already registered that name on the free E-mail provider I was looking at (it wasn't Hotmail, that's for sure). As a result, I put a 'z' in the middle and have been using that ever since. On Usenet I just post as John Hansen now.

I experimented with posting as Cybernetic Crow, but it sounded stupid so I forgot about it. My TGOD character is named Johan Ragle, a simple derivative of my real name. I also keep a bunch of other nicks for spamtrap E-mails and logins on sites I'm only passingly interested in.

I've used TheDarkOne since I first started having to give a user name for stuff on-line. I can't actually remember where I got it from now, but I know it wasn't from WoT, 'cause I hadn't started those books when I started using it.

Hey, Rob, you're back! What happened?
After months of trading high-grade Cocaine through the Golden triangle, I became wanted over some trifling accounting errors and needed to lie low for awhile. I therefore dusted off my old skills as a ventriloquist (learnt as a child when I toured the world as the Amazing Rob and his Harem of Harlots) and became, for a few months, the personal ventriloquist to the Secret Emperor of China.
However the sneak attack by Red Chinese Commando's on his Himalyan hideaway forced me to escape, by dressing up as the Ghost of Moa Tse Tung. The use of some simple sleight of hand (from my time as James Randi's protogee) and the use of levitation techniques (taught to me by the Maharishi's of Transcedental meditation), allowed my to cow the Soldiers and make my way to South America by way of a requisitioned Communist Zepplin.
Once there I made the mistake of falling for a dark eyed beauty who tempted me into leading a successful bloodless coup, overthrowing the cruel Junta that had subjigated the people. However Marriage was not to be, as Pedro already had a wife, so heartbroken and strangely confused i left that scented land and made my way by handcrafted raft across the Atlantic, until I reached Wales.
It was there that I came to regret buying a Sheepskin coat and falling asleep in a field *shudder*. As luck would have it I was happened upon later the next day by Cherie Blair. Using the incredible Psychic gifts i had honed under tutelage of Uri Gellar i was able to convince her to make me a Chief advisor and Major Domo Astrologer to the Labour Party.
After that it's hardly neccesary to explain the ease with which I could arrange the kidnapping and Murder of the Chairman Of NTL, and take his place, thereby ensuring my connection to the Internet (which i had helped Al Gore create whilst in nursery school). After that a click of the mouse brought me here and the end of this heroic and true tale.
:D

Then you need to read more Terry Pratchett books, wherein you'll find furhter wisdom from Hex the Magic Computer.

BTW TheDarkOne, a taste for Pratchett is always a good sign. 8)

Now follow Eimnhander sn0m4n's advice and post some more.

I used AdmiralThrawn to make a handful of posts on Spacebattles.com, as well as to debate old-school Trekkies on a few tiny, shallow-pool forums. When I came here there were already people with Thrawn, or Grand Admiral variations, so I chose Jim Raynor, a character from Starcraft.

Ah Starcraft, how many hours have i lost to that game?

You should hunt on the net and get a pic of Jim (or copy it from your Starcraft game folder) as your avatar.

I only used that for about half a month, and only because I was very mad at Darkstar and flaming him constantly.

I started out with the first three letters of my surname, Ash, in the old days of Quake/Quake II. By the time StarCraft came around it had changed to @$]-[ (because 'plain' Ash was never available to register on forums and Battle.Net). I kept that for quite awhile (the "glory days" of Half-Life and Counter-Strike) until I moved on to Operation Flashpoint modding at which point I added my real forname and de-L337ified it to AaronAsh because the players of OFP were alot less L337 than the old HL and CS crowd so alot of them didn't get it. when I registered on this forum I put the space in between Aaron and Ash, basically by accident, and here I am now.

Many moons ago, I was RedStorm_81 on the old Prodigy chat system. I got a hotmail account (back before Microsoft bought it) and just about every variant of "Red Storm" I could think of was taken, so I used Red_Imperator (from the Latin imperator, which means "Emperor", NOT the star destroyer). That gradually became my replacement screen name, especially after I abandoned Prodigy. I use Antiochus Rex on AIM now, but I decided I liked Red Imperator better for this board.

I've occasionally used Perkygoth or Rockfaerie as well. but they're a bit more common.

I wish, they're a bit out of my price range, and my vintage amp will probably hurt itself trying to drive them. I've had chances to listen to them thanks to my friendly audio dealer and they sound amazing. I was able to listen to MartinLogan Prodigy's for about an hour at a store downtown, even though they knew there was no way in hell I was buying them. They are so nice it's not even funny, but for something that costs $10,000 US it damn well better be orgasmic.

Prodigy's they look as good as they sound
