Forum software/hosting.

Post by Dragoness »

Well, I hope this is the right place for this, otherwise-- feel free to shoot me ;)

Due to recent problems with the free forum host a freeform RPG game I'm in, is using, they are considering to find a paid host. So is there any forum software(like IPB) and a reliable host(ad-free) that any of you might recommend?

Not anything overly expensive though, since the owner of the game will probably need some donation from the players.

Forum software wise, look at phpBB. It is totally free, and is what this very forum looks at.

Hosting is much mroe subjective, but I've personally been with Meirhosting for several years, without problems, and with excellent support :)

Another forum software that I prefer to phpBB is called SimpleMachines, and can be found here: http://www.simplemachines.org/

It's got a lot more preference options than phpBB, and is a bit more complex, but it looks quite sharp and works well. :)
