Can you use a computer mouse without your arthritis flaring up? Then you probably can use the controller.

Why not?
Because designers wants people to play their games. No-one would play a game that hurts or makes you overly tired. Don't assume that they are idiots.

One uses a remote to change channels and operating menus. AT NO TIME are you forced to make rapid inputs to prevent a game character from dying or being forced to restart a level when you want to watch an episode of Doctor Who.
What does any of that have to do with the appearance of the device?
Or a bastardized version of a current design for use with one hand and designed specifically to be easy to use that way.
The "brick" is designed for ease of use with one hand...

We HAVE a Revolution-bashing thread. No, I don't care that they might be for bashing different aspects or that this had a different purpose originally. If you need to debate the value of Nintendo, let's keep it under one roof, just for the hell of it.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.
