Lightsaber duel
Well, I thought it was awesome. Pretty good choreography and special effects IMO.

That Lightsaber trick at the end and the floorish afterwords was down right perfect. But one does not use a bloody knifefighting reverse grip when using #%#% swords! At least if you want to keep all your fingers.

Meh, it was neat, but got tedious at the end. Rolling around on the floor fighting was silly.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Sorry, but I'm not that impressed. We've seen this before too but ages ago.

It's good for a fanfilm.

It's Ryan vs Dorkman. I always liked it, flaws and all. Of course, I liked Contract of Evil too, so maybe my opinions aren't really to be trusted. :)

I definately like that duel, especially the part where the guy stops to adjust his glasses. 8)

And it's also a nice touch to see people get creative with their lightsaber styles instead of simply emulating the movies.

Note to self. When involved in a force pull war against someone over a lightsaber and I win it, make sure that the emitter is facing away from me.

Decent. They get bonus points for the sky blue and yellow lightsabers in addition to some new tricks.

Points for the rolling on the floor.

Okay, who didn't see the tug-of-war end coming? I mean, it's so obvious.

This had excellent choreography for a fanfilm, but I still think Duality has the best lightsaber fight.

Really it is, the first was their practice set in their back yard minus costumes, music and dialogue. The fight itself was different as well.

Choreography and genera skills in AotS were better, but the sappy music and tone were a bit of a downer. On the other hand, this new one had cool music and a really kickass kill-shot going for it.

Art of the Saber had better choreography, although I liked how "best lightsaber duel" had the music from Dark city. It really felt appropriate for a fast lightsaber battle.

Duality deserves notice as an earnest attempt at a decent fanfilm (at which it succeeds, I'd say), but the fighting doesn't really pick up until the end duel. Before that, most of the moves were embarrassingly slow.

Art of the Saber, well... it'll always hold a special place in my heart for being technically fucking brilliant. That said, the guy with the red lightsaber was a bit too mismatched against the ultre-coolness of his opponent.

I remember seeing the first film some time ago, but now as well as then I still like it pretty much. Mostly because of the Matrix feeling that it has sometimes (as the glasses thing) ... or the opening western like face-off.

As for "Art of the saber" ... does anyone know what song plays in the background?

It was a bit goofy for my tastes and there was too much slapping of each other's sabres but I liked the ending.
