For that matter, I also despise little pop temptresses whose brains fall far below the critical neural mass necessary to write their own music.

For that matter, Creed, which has somehow escaped from the realm of Xtian radio, tends to irritate me to some small extent as well. Oh yeah, virtually all country recorded in the 90s pisses me off.

I could go on and on like this, but you get the picture.
But, reading through the responses makes me want to go on. I dislike most "alternative" produced after the early to mid '90s. Right after 1998 or so, it seems that the genre discovered Spaarti cylinders. Then it sucked.

I hate rap made after the mid or late 90s. All of it sounds identical nowadays.

Oh yeah, and Dave Matthews Band can have an unfortunate encounter with 1500 grams of antimatter.

Audioslave, definitely.

RAtM - Zack De La Rocha + some douchebag = Audioslave = horse-shit. They try far to hard to sound like something that can never be duplicated.

Isn't the frontman for that band Billy Corgan or something? Dude from Smashing Pumpkins?

EDIT: Chris Cornell from Soundgarden, according to sis.

I should add that I like SOME rap. Several of Eminem's songs ("Without Me" and "Lose Yourself" as examples) are good and make me laugh. Sisqo isn't too memorable, but at least he moves away from the typical rapcrap.

I absolutely love the "Without Me" video and I think a lot of Eminem's music is either emotionally powerful or extremely funny.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned those shitty kid singers yet. I'm talking about Aaron Carter, Lil Romeo, and Lil Bow Wow. God, do those annoying little shits actually think they're cool or something? Just how old are they? Twelve, thirteen? It's hard to like someone who acts like they get all the ladies when they haven't even gotten through puberty yet.

I was remembering the Rap Song "At the Play ground" there is just something inhairiently wrong, about kids too young to have body hair singing about doinking some girl all night long.

Okay here's my list, I can only include music you guys would recognize:
(in no particular order)

-what we call "canned" bands/singers (as in canned goods, sounds better in my native language tho): those stupid bands that some big corporation endorses, builds, trains, dresses up and then makes sing really stupid songs. Examples: ABBA Teens, V-Sync or whatever it's called, Britney Spears, etc.
-that stupid little brat from Nickelodeon called Aaron Freak or something like that.
-Limp Bizkit
-Eminem

I actually think Blink 182 is kinda funny, specially their bonus track "I... want to fuck a dog in the ass" :)

the general formulae for rap

1) get a backing track that sounds like a car alarm

2) Dress in the most ludacris manor possible, football shirts 5 times too large are a must

3) Borrow your moms cheap gold

4) rent a few prossies

5) talk really fast about your car/girlfriend/watch/jewlery/etc

6) dance like a dislexic taking a fit

And there you have it your a rap star.

Ooh, how come no ones mentioned the evil that is Drum and Bass

One guy takes a bunch of same-sounding tracks, and scratches and mixes them in any random way, and another guy yells 'one-time! one-time!' and eveyrbody in the Hahse!' and other such unimaginative shit, and people call these people artists!

There is no musical creativity involved in MCing or DJing, and people who thik there is irritate me more than Will and Gareth.

Yeah, him. They sound too much like RAtM to not be compared to them, and their lyrics are, by that comparison, abysmal.

I believe Billy Corgan is starting some born-again Christian band, now.

I believe Jay-Z doesn't think he's all that great. Why else would he get a bunch of "guest appearances" for his new album?

As for kid singers, I hate them. Their voices all sound like they were backed up with helium and kicked in the balls (I believe boys their age can sing baritone), they're talking about love and stuff like that, when they haven't even hit puberty, as mentioned before, and they probably won't grow up. They'll be singing like Muchkins even when they're 30, assuming they're not working at Burger King by then.

As for all the rap artists, I think many rappers nowadays became rappers to make up for their lack of singing talent.

Ugh... Dont compare any of that Emo shit to REAL punk rock. Hardcore punk is worlds away from shit like NFG, Good Charolette, etc.

Mumia Abu Jamal. Former Black Panther, killed a white cop in Philadelphia. RATM and the Beastie Boys fronted a benefit concert for his legal defense fund in New Jersey a few years ago. I hadn't liked Rage before, and I'd been indifferent to the Beastie Boys, but after that, I launched a total boycott. I won't even listen to them on the radio.

Incidently, I was at an Offpsring show at the Electric Factory (small venue in Philly), and the second act was some shit band called Ozmalti or something. They dedicated their last song to Mumia. Not a bright idea in front of an overwhelmingly white crowd in Philadelphia. You've really got to piss someone off to get him to throw a $5 cup of Pepsi at your head.

Techno/Rave/Trance is fun to dance to and good to play when you're having a fighting game tournament. I agree it isn't really that original, though.

Just for that, Nok:

Everybody stutters one way or the other
So check out my message to you.
As a matter of fact don't let nothin' hold you back.
If the Scatman can do it so can you.

Everybody's sayin' that the Scatman stutters
But doesn't ever stutter when he sings.
But what you don't know I'm gonna tell you right now
That the stutter and the scat is the same thing.
Yo I'm the Scatman.

Where's the Scatman? I'm the Scatman.

Why should we be pleasin' all the politician heathens
Who would try to change the seasons if the could?
The state of the condition insults my intuitions
And it only makes me crazy and my heart like wood.

Everybody stutters one way or the other
So check out my message to you.
As a matter of fact don't let nothin' hold you back.
If the Scatman can do it brother so can you.
I'm the Scatman.

I hear you all ask 'bout the meaning of scat.
Well I'm the professor and all I can tell you is
While you're still sleepin' the saints are still weepin' cause
Things you call dead haven't yet had the chance to be born.

I do. Hurricane is a great song, too.

Anyway, I hate most rap. Like I said, if I wanted hear that shit, I'd enter a ghetto poetry contest.
