Never buy a VPR Matrix (Best Buy) computer!

Post by Joe »

My friend's computer just went haywire, and he called the company, which as it turns out is owned by Best Buy.

They want a hundred dollars for customer service.

Absolutely unbelievable.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Best Buy's geek squad charges a hundred bucks for EVERYTHING. Even plugging in your router.

I hear it pays well.

I think Geek Squad only pays about $15 an hour; maybe more if you're one of the geeks that go to houses.

You'd make five times that simply by undercutting Geek Squad's job charges by half.

Software haywire or hardware haywire?
And is it in warranty or out of warranty?
A lot of cheap machines only have 90 day warranties now.

If it's out of warranty, a charge for support is no surprise (IMHO it's a little high though to just talk to a phone drone).
Most PC makers charge for out of warranty support.

If it's in warranty, then BB can go fuck themselves.

Hehe. Few weeks ago, I had a customer bitching about how the Geek Squad overcharges. The NEXT CUSTOMER, directly after the guy, was the manager for the Geek Squad at a local best buy. God, keeping a straight face was hard.
