Which fanfics have you read here, and why?
In the interest of... giving me things to do, I shall ask thee; what fanfics (or fics, as the case may be) hosted on this site have you read, or are reading, and why? Do specific authors attract your notice? Word of mouth? Certain subjects you find interesting? Simple WTF appeal? Or is it the snazzy banners some of us carry?
For my part, generally, I follow the recommendations of other readers, although simply seeing certain authors can also pull me in.
My list:
-Battle of the Hymn by Knife
-Battle of the Hymn 2: The Chronicle of the Citadel by Lonestar
-Dark Councilors by Pick
-Starcrossed by Stravo
-Zaia's Babysitting Adventure by Kuja
-Halo: In the Face of Betrayal by Kuja
-Conquest by Mike Wong
And a handful of shorts and abandoned fics I can't recall the names of.

I read UPF, Zaia's babysitting adventure, I also formerly kept track of Ford prefect's work in the logical world thingy and I've read Elheru's work.
Why nothing more? Time investment and readability. If its in completed fan fics I usually try to read it(I've read nearly everything there bar starcrossed), otherwise its too hard with all the spam. A text file with the entire story would also help.

I found the forums because I was looking for fics to read at http://www.daltonator.net/fanfics/index.html and started surfing the links there.
I pretty sure I've read all the fics here and some of them are even worth waiting for new chapter(s). I'm not going mention any names.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Yers, I have finally actually got my finger out once more. And I plan to make an end. Soon.Undiscovered Galaxy: (Preview, Subject to Change) wrote:“I’ll never be clean again!” Zelenka lamented, as they finally entered the power room.
“Oh stop complaining,” McKay muttered, “at least they didn’t pay you any attention. I’m amazed they didn’t bite me…”
The familiar triangular plinth was there, of course, and McKay couldn’t resist, practically jumping over to it. Zelenka followed him with an evident mixture of puppy-ish devotion and concern at the prospects of McKay over-reaching again. Ford wandered over to an upright capsule on the wall, covered in dust and some kind of frosting on the inside of the glass bubble. It was cool to the touch, and Ford’s hand almost stuck to it as he wiped clean a section at around eye level.
“I think you guys had better see this,” he said.

I'm in the process of reading through 55 Days in Kalunda, I read some of Ford Prefect's Logical World shorts (I think I only commented on one but I should read more!), getting through Zaia's Babysitting Adventure by Kuja, getting through The Unnamed Porno Fanfic which is wrongxorbitantly hilariotastic, and reading the Rift by Noble Ire. My only trouble is that time constraints and mood swings leave me reading a bit of stuff from different people at a time (or maybe it's the phases of the moon!) That and trying to keep updating my own story and stuff. We've got lots of good writers here .
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

And thus, the Padawan and the Master are dispatched, and it falls to the champion of the Force, Yoda to save them; whom in his near infinate power, displays little intelligence, by stopping the piller with the force instead of jerking his underlings out of the way so that his fight with Dooku can continue.....

I generally try to read all of Imperial Overlord's works, but with the last couple I got left behind. I also read Pick's Dark Councillors (because it rocks), and 55 Days in Kallunda. I also read stuff by Kuja, and Singular Quartet (when I remember, that is). There's stuff I've been meaning to read, and haven't got around to yet (NecronLord and Lady Tevar both have stories up, and I wish to read them).
What is Project Zohar?
Here's to a certain mostly harmless nutcase.

Seems like a lot of the stuff I used to follow hasn't been updated in a long time:
Star Trek Timelines by Steve
The Flame-Haired One also by Steve
Ad Astrum Meus Oyster by Ford Prefect
Other than that, mostly one-shots because I don't have time for the longer stuff, except for Pick's Dark Councilors.

Hmm, I must admit I haven't been reading much lately. I, of course, read BotH 2 for obvious reasons and I enjoyed Lady Tevars 'Certain Point of View'. Other than that, I haven't kept up with anything lately.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

BTW, since I'm a bit of an attention whore;
Yippie, I got two mentions. BotH and Jedi Proph.

All of Stravo's stuff
Manifest Destiny
Most of Steve's stuff
Rebellion in Paradise
Mike Wong's Conquest
JME2's stuff
Much of Chuck's stuff
That other fic that Lord Wong started. Crud, it's been so long that I can't remember the title. If only he'd update that one...

You flatter me . Now that my senior paper is done, and my senior art project is almost done, I can really get back to progressing that sucker (the 1-year time skip is imminent!) Once summer hits... .Ford Prefect wrote:I also read Pick's Dark Councillors (because it rocks)
