Hmm...

Debbie Gibson.
Yes, I like some late 80's pop and she's damn good at it. Out Of The Blue is always on a car mp3 CD somewhere.

Village People.
Yeah, I like this gay 70's pop band. So what? :P

The Royal Guardsmen.
Snoopy vs. The Red Baron is also on any of my car CD's.
Don't like it? Too fucking bad.

There's more, but this is a start.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

That song makes me want to beat you with a hose. It's like some fucking radio song that gets played to death when you're a God damn sophomore in high school.

Yes, exactly; it's a high school song.

Bullshit. Who were these alleged other four? :P
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

I'm a Metal and Jazz guy, which is admittedly already a pretty weird combo. However, for the purposes of this thread I am forced to admit I also have Justin Timberlake and Celine Dion on my iPod.

Foreigner - I've seen it before, it happens all the time. Closing the door, you leave the world behind. Cold as Ice has a hallowed spot on my iPod.

Kanye West - A fucking headcase even by celebrity standards, but damn if he hasn't got some kickass songs.

Maroon5 - I really like This Love. Fuck you, too.

John Mayer - I really don't have any excuse for this and I suspect that many of you think that I am actually an 18-year old female college freshmen with a vagina now. But Why, Georgia was a good song and it actually resonated with me.

Bon Jovi - So bad it's good. NOTHING can approach the unintentional hilarity of Wanted Dead or Alive.

I would class Bon Jovi as pretty damn good though. Can you name any other song that makes you want to kneeslide across a stage as much as "Living on a prayer"?

*raises hand*

It's actually really good. The man can't sing to save his life, but it's catchy nonetheless and the lyrics are poetic.

I've rarely been embarrased about what I listen to, but I still try to hide my Katie Melua/Freezepop collection.

You're female. Enjoy that nigh-universal range of things you're allowed to like. :P

Incidentally, I submit No Doubt/Gwen Stefani.

I really like to sing along with "female" songs:

Bobby McGee-Janis Joplin
You Oughta Know- Alanis Morressette
House of the Rising Sun-traditional
Stand by your man
Dankeshone-Marlene Deitrich
Falling in love again-Marlene deitrich
I will survive-Gloria gaynor

etc.

now what makes me self concious are the lyrics about relationships with men, when I'm straight.

now what makes OTHER people uncomfortable when I play or sing
Strange F?ruit-Billie Holiday

oh and
I met her in a club down in north soho
where they drink champange and it tastes just like cherry cola
c.o.l.a. cola

she walked up to me and she asked my to dance
I asked her name and in a basso voice she said lola
l.o.l.a. Lola. lo-lo-lola

(always loved the song about the dumb straight boy falling hard for the Transvestite)

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
