Heh, I'm sure that some Trekkie would love the idea. I'm opposed to child genocide though.
Let's forget about the moral implication of killing your child over and over in the transporter beam...

Did you realize that your 12-year old (actual time) would be the equivalent of an 8-year old? (physically/mentally). That's only if you put them in a buffer while you work 8 hours a day: what about you and the little missus going off for a Risan sex holiday and leaving junior in the buffer for a week on a regular basis... He'd be twenty and still in the 4th freaking grade!!! No thanks...

Damn transporters! *grumble* So much plot crap from a device that was ONLY invented to cheap out on the visual effects of a ship landing every bloody week... :x
Pizza, Margarita Shooters and naked Sebacen girls...Now that's a party.

Yeah its a real crazy thing. You're certianly right about how those old christmas lights became every Trekkie's favorite shiney thing. I seriously don't give a fuck if they can beam someone to sick back. I say take a fucking walk you lazy bastard! :D Wouldn't that improve the drama of the show? A little work would be nice to see :) Oh and I hope that Ducky doesn't come here and start talking about Picard's "energy"... Transporters kill, its plain and simple.

It seems that, in the pursuit of a plot, Trek frequently ignores common sense. When have you ever seen the doctors wearing a biohazzard suit when treating someone with an unknown illness? Why did they put Beverly into suspended animation rather than neutralising the acid (surely not that difficult) and giving her some burn treatments (wet rags on the face)?

They are small little nitpicks, I know. However, given the fact that many Trekkies call the show 'realistic', you would expect some technical common sense. Especially when you hear of all the 'technical consultants' who work for the show.
