Japanese Encoding

Post by Darth Sephiroth »

Does anyone know where I can find a coding for Firefox or other browsers for the Japanese Language stuff. A friend has been trying to get me to check some things out where it would be applicable. I need a free one if its available.

I guess you mean you can't see Japanese, only the ????? and [][][][][][].

Control panel -> regional and language options -> lanuages tab -> check both boxes. It'll ask for the WinXP CD, so pop it in.

You'll start seeing real Japanese characters in your browsers and explorer.
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Er, just try checking "Install East Asian files" and see if that does it, because that alone shouldn't prompt you for the CD.

You can probably search Microsoft's homepage for an East Asian language pack that you can download and install without much trouble.
