I prefer the first, actually. The integrated weaponry looks a bit better than simple hands.

Ah, the third one is much better. A stronger pose, and the intergrated weapons look good. The armour plating on the side of the legs looks good too. The upward sloping toes are interesting.
While the chestpiece is perhaps appealing to look at, it seems to be creating a shell trap. I like the shape the head as well, though it's a bit unclear how it sits on the torso.
I'll be looking forward to seeing it coloured!
Also, I was thinking it'd be nice to see a human silohette beside your mechs to get a sense of scale.

I like them. My thing about armour suits-
I understand the usefulness of intergrated weaponry, but I don't like the lack of dextarity this brings. (Muffinking, I'm not asking for more drawings, the third one rocks!) I jsut want to know other peoples options on the subject.

maybe an M1 hitting it in the chest?
hey, I got an Idea for a weapon...
Put a shell, and hollow it, and in the ceter put an electromagnet, and then, all around it, metal magnetized the same (so + and +)
when the shell his, the electro magnet turns on, creating a bunch of flichettes.
(it'd have to be anti infantry)

It'd be cheaper and more efficient to make a weapon that used explosives to propel small bits of unmagnetized metal, creating a bunch of shards we like to call "shrapnel".The Jazz Intern wrote:maybe an M1 hitting it in the chest?

Also, you may want to ease up on the Mech vs. Tanks thing, this isn't a debate thread, it's an art thread.
By the way, cool pics. They remind me of something, I just can't think of what.

Could always go the GITS route and have a secondary set of manipulator arms.Ford Prefect wrote:Hey, it's Jazz! Hi Jazz!
Anyway, it's generally superior to just have integrated weaponry, but I personally can't do without hands. I need robots capable of picking people up and crushing them like eggs.
And of course, great work MuffinKing, I really like the look, it just feels real.

Thanks all!
Besides, I haven't thought of manipulator arms...
Hmm, I usually think in terms of the "Jim" suit, a deep sea vessel thats man shaped and designed to withstand great pressures and depths. I'm also partial to complete robotic suits remote piloted using "telepresence", although the brain in a jar is a personal favorite...Could always go the GITS route and have a secondary set of manipulator arms.

Actually it looks like a good design for a hostile environment "power suit" for infantry. Because Space Suits are too fragile in a gunfight.TheMuffinKing wrote:Actual size of the Jaguar:

I was imagining protection from up to 25mm rounds when designing this. None of this fancy dancing power suit shit...this stands there, takes it, and dishes it out tenfold! I would like to see this wading through fire with guns blazing!Actually it looks like a good design for a hostile environment "power suit" for infantry. It might be difficult to fit a person inside it though; better would be The Muffin King's dedicated power suit designs.MKSheppard wrote: Actually it looks like a good design for a hostile environment "power suit" for infantry. Because Space Suits are too fragile in a gunfight.
