The Wold Newton Universe is, essentially, a shared universe, linking various pulp heroes together. The expanded version of this essentially keeps track of all the times authors "slyly" referne other series as real, and crossovers (Within a set amount of guidelines). Think in the same vein as the Travaler's Almanac in the back of Volume 2 of "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".
Here is an article published on one of the Wold Newton offshoot sites incorporating the Marvel Series "Runaways" into the Wold Newton Univrse. Specifically, tieing it in with the end of "Angel".
