Did Palpatine's trap require his fighters to work without capship support? Oh yes, that's because he was wanking too hard on his Death Star, so he just couldn't let his fleet work properly and support the attack of the fighters. If that's not incompetence, then what is? In fact, his "trap" meant to destroy the Rebels, however, his arrogance and lust for showing off made the opposite come true.

Wow, a very competent leader and his very competent trap.

So no, this has nothing to do with "going on the whole day". With this I shall end the debate, too. You didn't answer about more than 7 MCs which were well above the ISD and SSD plane, and thus in the range of their "heavy guns", however. Well, nevermind.

What, exactly, are you trying to get at? What does the Emperor being overconfident have to do with blasters? Or blaster speed? Or turbolaser speed? Or turbolaser range?
Later...

At the fact that the IF did not manage to destroy the MC rebel fleet at Endor. There were like 8 or maybe even 9 different MCs in the range of the IF's HTLs, all while already closed in point-blank. But yes, I've gone OT. Sorry.

As for TLs, I was just wondering at the misses in close-quaters battle, that is all... DW's explanation of unwieldy guns pretty much sealed the initial question that I had. Physical limits of guns are probably the best and most often overlooked fact in sci-fi in general...

About stun settings

Post by WTR »

I was reading up Mike Wong's page, and talks about the E-11 and the S-5 having stun. You don't see stun used except in E-11's. Is stun an uncommon setting in most weapons or just a case of never getting to see it except for that one occassion in Episode 4? Or is the 'Every blaster has stun' another brainbug?
