May i make a suggestion to everyone...
Wait one year before buying the Revolution (i refuse to call it by that retarded other name), in fact waita year after launch before buying any system.
In that time, any huge mistakes will have become evident and probably fixed. And frankly i think that the controller will have most people throwing fits when they try to play it, so by then they'll have released a normal controler add-on of some kind, IMO.
Just friendly advice from someone who buys a lot of consoles.
I'm probably gonna' buy an XBox 360 and Revolution in 2007-2008, since those two are the ones that interest me more than PS3.

Nintendo rarely ships defective hardware. In fact, the only two semi-botched launches I recall are the Virtual Boy, which was just a bad idea, and the backlight-less original GBA.In that time, any huge mistakes will have become evident and probably fixed.

Seriously, i intend to give this thing a chance, but just because it comes from Nintendo is not some reason to assume its good. Nintendo is known for having some serious stinkeroos in its time. Virtual Boy? Anyone? Beuler?
I'm definitely buying it, but i will not do so until i hear from people who actually played it (and by that i mean gamers not industry folks).

The Virtual Boy was a fluke that I don't think Nintendo was even really sure of. Besides, it's literally the only example of a genuine flop from the company, compared to, say, Sega, which has had multiple product failures.
Speaking of, considering your general track record on the board, I frankly see no reason to listen to you.

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Nintendo is well known for making hardware that does not break down easily. I have never heard of a Nintendo console having bugs at launch or mass problems (unless you count dead pixels on the DS, but they exchange those even with only one pixel, I went through four in a day ); just Sony and Microsoft.
On top of that, it's going to be much cheaper than the 360 or PS3 so waiting for a price drop is not that necessary, and it looks to have a strong launch lineup.
I AM planning to wait a year for a PS3, with Sony's track record with products breaking down and the high price.
Fair enough; I'll let you know in 8 days when I play it.I'm definitely buying it, but i will not do so until i hear from people who actually played it (and by that i mean gamers not industry folks).

Frankly, controllers that rely on motion sensors and the position of the controller piss me the hell off. I've got beefy man hands, I don't want my controller to be motion reading them and doing stuff. What the fuck happened to regular buttons? Buttons are simple and the controller doesn't do anything unless you hit them. You don't have to think about it and you have precise control. Does Nintendo really need a fucking gimmick controller when the old style controllers worked fine? Hell, I would be overjoyed if they simply brought back the SNES controller, made it wireless, and then focused their attention on making quality innovative games, rather than flashy peripherials.

Yeah.18-Till-I-Die wrote:I thought only industry and press got into E3?
We created NintendoPlayers.com (see my sig) about four months ago. Supply the proper credentials to E3 and they send you a press badge (letting you get in to the show two hours early), and they'll probably invite you to the Media Briefing and Breakfast too. Then email and beg Nintendo and if they judge you worthy they send you an invite to their conference. And voila, two of us from NintendoPlayers are going to E3.
They really cater to the press, too. Two hours early + free breakfast and briefing + free Media lounge...

Becoming press to get into E3 is easy enough.
When I used to run a Ultima X website on the Ianstorm network, we used to send a team to E3 every year. Even got to go one year.
I still wish I ran the website....or worked for Ianstorm, so I could still get to E3..I so want to see the Wii in action.
