Hell yes. Use FRAPS and make documentaries about the wars.Stark wrote:And by 'save replay' you mean a proper recording with flexible cameras like FPS. THEN we'll see some carnage... afterward, when nobody is trying to run a war.

That'd be a blast, regardless of the game.
'As you can see, the forest has been totally destroyed'
'Meanwhile, to the south,' *pauses replay, moves to massive battle* 'we see the superunits lobbing nukes at each other.' *spins view around, centers on one robot* 'This robot is about to die.' *unpauses, cackles*

Hell, for that, I'd get two copies and dual-box for the express purpose of making quality replays.

Out of Context Theatre, this week starring Darth Nostril.

Chris Taylor mentions annihilating most of a test map in a nuke barrage during an interview. So no doubt you'll be able to launch many many nukes out of each silo to your heart's content.Adrian McNair wrote:They're in there.Admiral Valdemar wrote: I hope they have ABM systems still, though. It'd be nasty having to deal with your base going bye-bye like that. An army, yeah. But my afternoon's work? Fuck no.
There are also those theatre shield generators shown in some of the screenshots. It's not yet known if those can withstand a nuclear blast, though.Gamespot wrote: You can try relying on nuclear missiles, which pack some of the biggest punches in the game. However, there is also antimissile technology in the game, so nukes might not guarantee a win, after all.
And don't forget nuke subs!
What's her bust size!?
It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!

It is like someone has taken the best stuff from TA and a list of problems with TA and fixed them!Shinova wrote:Chris Taylor mentions annihilating most of a test map in a nuke barrage during an interview. So no doubt you'll be able to launch many many nukes out of each silo to your heart's content.

Nuke subs is what you want. My silos in TA were always prime targets once made, but if you have a boomer in the blue seas, then it gets interesting. You can get the player to yield and join you (possibly fight against another player), or wipe them out. With the maps they show there, you'd need a fucking massive navy to use as a hunter-killer fleet for your sub.

Which makes the prospect of full-blown apocalyptic wars (That would make even the most massive Total Annihilation battle look like a minor tiff by comparison) even more likely.SAMAS wrote:I just realized something.
On larger maps, it will probably be impossible to rush an opponent and take him out in a few minutes.
So, has anyone heard any information about how much terrain deformation there will be in the game?
I have another question as well. Has anyone had any success in trying to reach the faction information pages on the official site? For some reason there are no accesible links.
I'm hoping sonar fucking jamming subs dont exist in this game. A sub which jams sonar is the spawn of fucking evil.
CT has said there isnt going to be any deformable terrain from weapons fire. Which given the volume of weapons fire that will be seen, that is understandable.Adrian McNair wrote:So, has anyone heard any information about how much terrain deformation there will be in the game?

Actually, I'm hoping they handle jammers realistically; ie, they prevent you from detecting the units around them, but they're brightest fucker on your map. Then you could use a jammer as decoy, as well. But that's probably asking for too much.Xon wrote:I'm hoping sonar fucking jamming subs dont exist in this game.
