Creationist Prehistoric Ecology

Post by Majin Gojira »

One of the things that I've...how to phrase this..."puzzles me", "perturbs me", "Really pisses me off" about Creationism is how they set up prehistoric ecology.

The sheer volume of species that have existed on earth...and they, usually, expect them all to co-exist at the same time. I can't think of an ecological structure that could support such an insane amount of not only diversity, but competition.

I've seen one tactic they've used to try and rectify it: by stating that the "multiple species" are all the same creature--to the point where genuses and even families become one species!

That STILL leaves an ecological system that can't be supported, though.

Has anyone else encountered what they try and do to counter the volumes of species (ancient and modern) that have to co-exist for their beliefs to "work"?

Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

The most frequent response in my experience is that tired old copout of "With God, all things are possible!".

But get this: I once argued with a guy who claimed that Pangaea was divided into isolated regions according to what science recognizes as distinct geological epochs. He didn't explain what kept the Panthalassa seperated into neat little zones though.

Why, that would be the angelic electric fences, of course!

Just watch out for that overweight angel that smells faintly of cheese...y'know, the one from Seinfel, the Angelic Show about Nothing.

Don't you know? The vapor canopy shielded the pre-deluge earth from harmful radiation, stimulating the growth of plant life and providing enough vegetables to feed all the lions and velociraptors and trichinosis worms.
