Just to get back on topic for a second, I just wanted to say that I HATE that Kelly what's-her-face from 'American Idol' or whatever the hell shit TV show she came from. Gah, the fact that she can go through a fucking lame-dick show, have idiot bow down to her 'talent' or whatever she thinks she has, and THEN have the wankers who work at some record company say, "Oh, she won blah blah TV show, she must be GREAT! Let's play her stupid song 234987582734923598 TIMES A DAY!!!!! ON ALMOST EVERY STATION IN THE GREATER BALTIMORE/DC AREA!!!!"

Gah. Stupid bitch.

Sorry, Amanda dear. Back to you. :D

I've never heard this chick before so I can't comment on her.

Can't think of any songs in particular that I dislike right now either. Hmm.

Apparently she's from some contest show called American Idol.

I wouldn't know, because I didn't pay any attention to it at all.

Being a music person myself, Spank, with some friends who have recording contracts themselves (no, no one any of you have probably ever heard of), I know through them how hard it is to get that far and how long it takes. This bitch didn't work one iota as hard as some of my friends, and I despise her for that. I don't believe in luck, but I do believe in people relying on things other than their musical talents to get ahead.

Plus she downright SUCKS ASS!!!!!!

And, for the record, I didn't pay any attention to her either, until they started flooding my radio stations with her guttertrash. I don't watch that shit on TV. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr...... Hate her.

I had a neighbor in collage who kept playing this song that had a lyric like "I like the way you play the kissing game"

*I just could not stomach it, I had to drown it out with something, Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, anything!
I also don't like really mysogynistic music, and ever since Dawn "Dear Johned" me with "I heard it through the Grapevine" I have only liked love songs that involve people getting killed "Last Kiss", "She Moved through the Fair" etc.

I do remember video productions class and using some multi-channel equipment to do a "Wierd Al" version of somebody's overplayed blank burns.

Is that the same song a Simple Kind of Man? It's the best. I don't think I ever heard heard Free Bird if that isn't it.
It's actually Freebird but I add a little explative in the middle that spaced it out. Here are the lyrics, which aren't bad. I just can stand the long drawn out droning that makes up a lot of the song. Plus, it's supposed to be soooo great.

FREEBIRD

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me
For I must be traveling on now
There's too many places I've got to see

If I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change

Oh, and the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change

Bye-bye babe, it's been sweet, love
'Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take this so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame

But if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change

Oh, and the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord help me I can't change

Oh No, I can't change
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

The only songs I hate are those Jimmy Buffet songs, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville". I have nothing against the man or his songs, but I used to work in Mexican restaraunt that called the bar "Margaritaville" and we had specials on all sorts of crazy margaritas and they played those two songs over and over and over again. THose two songs are burned in my brain, and make me want to retch everytime I hear them. My own personal Clockwork Orange...

I think it was either Cher or Irene Cara. Somebody in the '80's. Hopefully, no one will ever use that recipe again...

Anything by Steps. Also anything by any boy band, or any other "band" whose music and production is supplied by that guy from Scandinavia - his name escapes me. He's the reason why, in all but the vocals, early Britney Spears sounds identical to same period Backstreet Boys.

I believe even she got sick of it at the very end of the show.

I really don't mid the lyrics ofthe song, unless they are extremely offensive or sung by a really crappy singer, what gets me fed up is crappy melody.

It was Weird Al's Alapalooza album, and the parody was Jurrasic Park. It had a claymation video.
