The Total War games are the only games that I could really justify a PC for.

Getting in there and getting your hands dirty in N3 looks like it will be fun (Basically similar to Dynasty Warriors, but with army sizes much like MTW2, and huge magic that can make entire troop formations go flying into the sky) but sometimes I want to get all beardy about it.

Not as far as I know, possibly a bug.

Gamespot has another pair of in-gameplay videos, with sound, uploaded.

To sum it up, everything that we love about Rome, such as murdering running archers and etc, is there. Everything annoying, like Cavalery stopping when you click again to attack the same unit, is there.

EDIT: I also loath the new UI.

New UI? Where? The TW series didn't really ... have one. I think.

Maybe its a result of the unit command design, I'm honestly not sure why this happens as it seems like a fairly simple thing to work around.

The battle UI, the entire thing screams 'we tried for a cool design but came up with something that annoys people'. Specificly, the side 'circle' of unit commands. I can already forsee myself mis-hitting buttons.

Greater use of Religion, more control.

10K unit cap in battles.

Physic system in battles.

Units have finshing moves when they finaly kill something.

What the game really needs is scripted city management. If you could give it rules for building garrisons and structures without having to micromanage it yourself, then game turns with large empires would not be so tedious. That's one of the reasons Barbarian Invasion doesn't work as well as RTW; you start the game with a lot of cities and a lot of micromanagement: something that ordinarily doesn't happen in RTW until you've already been playing for quite a while.

A better overall AI is needed. That way, you get an intelligent enemy and the ability to let the AI sort out your cities while you fight on the frontline. A heuristic system that continually adapts to the changing environment would be ideal, if they can pull it off. I like shiny graphics, but if the AI and general gameplay isn't up-to-scratch, then it's not as revolutionary as I want it.
