A christian fundie movie reviewer does the site, naturally with an aim of faulting hollywood for not preaching the good word. Blatantly stupid, but still rather amusing in a twisted sort of way.

for an example of the guy's work, here's a link to his review of "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut"

Someone should make a very accurate, very graphic series of movies out of the whole bible. It'd be damn funny to see CAPalert do those.

*South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut* (R) -- WARNING! This analysis is blunt. *South Park* is another movie straight from the smoking pits of Hell.

I suddenly want to see South Park, again and again.

That site is the most unintentionally funny on the net. It's ridiculous and frankly damn dumb! I get a good laugh every time I read that site.

They aren't hot or anything.

The movie was brilliant. It was all about the evils and stupidity of censorship. But I still think the South Park series is kind of dumb.

I find it ironic that fundies whine about sex and violence in the media, yet their holy book has to be the most violent and gruesome book out there.

See the "back to school page", it has to be one of the most bigoted documents there.

A greatly appreciated their review of Contact. I aught to kick their ass in the name of Carl Sagan.

I mean that list under "Additional examples of unacceptable material included":

deep philosophical anti-reality and corruption of traditional religiousness
How dumb can they get? I mean seriously?

I recall that in their review of TPM, they gave the movie a high Offense to God level because it did not ackowledge Jesus Christ as the source of salvation (that's right, fantasy too must acknowledge Jesus). It shows how these fundie whackjobs believe absolutely nothing can be secular...

No. It may be Christian, but it's not the Bible.

well, technically, it's an interpretation of revelation from the survivor's perspective.

That's irrelevant here. It may be based on the Bible, but it is not itself the Bible; they don't base their grading criteria on Left Behind.

The really entertaining bits wouldn't come around until they have to grade the gradebook.

Everything I've said here has gone straight over your head, hasn't it? Judging by this response I've quoted, you have completely missed the correct interpretation of my previous post and instead chosen one totally different.

Let me try again: If they were to rate a series of Biblical movies directly translated from book to film, they would be forced into one of two actions: they could rate them as they have all others and give them some of the lowest grades ever; or they could ignore all the nastiness in them and give them a favorable rating simply because it's the Bible, and demonstrate a great double-standard.

Do you understand now?

I took a look at the review of Blackhawk Down and just laughed my ass off at his stupidity. It's a war movie dumbass, people get shot and killed in wars, it ain't pretty but it happens. He then waxes nostalgic about the old days where John Wayne would nicely lead his men into battle and everything was good and right, what a load of donkey crap. The idiot can't get it through his head that those old movies are glorified and stereotypic portrayals of war, and are completely unrealistic. Blackhawk Down was made to be a realistic portrayal of a battle where shit goes wrong and people get killed, and it did a damn good job of that. The reviewer is so far removed from reality it's not even funny.

dude, I was agreeing with you previously. the post written above has little to do with arguing you. my comment was at capalert, not the start of a debate.

I've visited the site before. Now, I'd like to have a fanatical occultist review movies from his/her religious perspective.... that would be entertaining!!

I think you'll find out very quickly that "fanatical" and "occultist" generally don't belong in the same sentence. Judeo-Christian/Islamic Fundies are a dime a dozen; take every fundy from all other religions and put onto the Queen Mary, and you'll have a ghost ship!

I'm sure that there are quite many Hindu fundamentalists in India...
