I was reading the SpaceBattles babies entries on the Hate Mail page and went over to Spacebattles to actually browse through those threads myself but I couldn't find anyting.
On the Hate Mail page it states that the article was written in june 2000 but the threads in Spacebattles vs section go back only to may 2001.
Do those threads still exist on Spacebattles and if so could anyone provide a link?
I would like to see the "early years" of the VS debate.

No, there aren't many threads from back then. The board crashed years back and most of the older threads were lost. There are some that have been saved due to necromancy and the like, but not much.
I was unaware about the board crashing and losing old threads. Didn't they keep backups? Or did they just say "fuck it" because of the sheer size of data?

fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
Someone asked me yesterday if Dracula met Saruman and there was a fight, who would win. I just looked at this man. What an idiotic thing to say. I mean really, it was half-witted. - Christopher Lee JKA Server 2024
IIRC, there were problems changing servers allong with the crashes. IIRC, this was also back when Johan activaly ran it and the forums were still physicaly part of the CGI animation site.
As much as everyone would like it if those old threads were still there (I had a nice one on Imperial Military manpower potential as well as a couple others), there wasn't much that could have been done after the fact.
Though Laird's remained on my perminent newbie-status watch it list since then...
