Are you replying to me? If you mean my use of the word "tactical" I meant it in the sense "you're not gonna be commanding tank divisions here".

The Close Combat series are pretty cool. And when it comes out, the new king of realistic strategy will be World in Conflict.

the Only thing I find that RTS games have been able to do realisticly is the "OMG, how on earth I'm gonna be able to all this in the same time" fleeling
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

No the Close Combat games suck for realism when it came to infantry VS infantry combat.

You can't tell me a fucking elite SS MG 42 team fortifed in a three story building, facing off aginst an eight man american paratrooper squad who's charging across FOUR HUNDRED METERS of open ground(Cut friggin grass) and that MG42 team expend over 800 rounds of ammunition and not inflict one injury on that eight man squad and then have that eight man squad charge the house and kill the mg42 team in close combat with not even a skinned knee on the american side!

Close combat was semi-famous for VERY screwy infantry combat when occasionaly(As in every city battle) certain units would get "godmode" enabled it seemed as they blazed through buildings like lightining killing dozens of people in close combat.

Nevermind the screwy medal awarding
Heck when fighting in Close Combat III I had one Panzershriek team (Two man, one loader w/k98 and the Pshriek man) end up with over fourty kills combined after one rough city battle, 28 infantry kills by the loader and four full tank crews from the AT man.... and the game awarded them both a Iron Cross second class...

Artillary, medium tanks, Marines. The three units that will make a joke of your Jaegers.

GC1 is STILL a godlike game, and anyone who dosn't use hte free download from Fileplanet shall forever be mocked.

The Myth series, especially Myth 2, are excellent and much more realistic than other RTS games. Very challenging games, though.

Can't believe I didn't think of this before. Any of the 'Total Wars' were pretty realistic. You use large formations, movement and attack angles decide victors, plus unit types being applied correctly.

It's even realistic in having a really unresponsive control system. :P

Its old, but the World War III: Black Gold was pretty realistic. The only exception being the ridicules humvee+mortar rushes.

Well, I guess I won't be mocked then. It seems that fileplanet removed the GC1 download in favor of a GC "anthology", so they can still milk cash from my strained wallet...

Oh woa is me.

I wonder how Company of Heroes stacks up in the "realism" catagory. Haven't played nor heard much about it.
Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.

Yet what he creates tends to be total shit. Example: Ode to Spot.
Purely subjective. Believe it or not, there are people who like that poem.
