Photoshop help
I have been trying to figure out how to combine images with Adobe Photoshop 6.0.
I have a large picture that I want to use as the background and several smaller pictures to placer over it.
How do I do it?
I didn't get a manual with mine, so I need step by step instructions from which file I open first to the very end.
Over-explain as much as possible.
I guess this could go in Artwork and Photos, but I think that forum is more for displaying artwork and photos than it is making or enhancing them.

1.Copy big image.
2.New file.
3.Paste big image.
4.New layer.
5.Copy small image.
6.Paste small image into new layer.
7.Repeat 4-6 for other small images.

I have been saving my files off of the net wherever I find them. And then I open them in Photoshop to work on them. Is that the same as Cutting and Pasting? I tried right-clicking all over the place, but I got nothing useful.
I had intially typed in to explain this to me like I was retarded, but thought better of it. Maybe now you should.

I appologise, as I assumed you knew your way around PS.
Use the menus.
Select->All for selecting.
Edit->Copy to copy.
File->New for new file.
Edit->Paste to paste.
Layer->New Layer for a new layer.
Again, sorry if this is hard, it's all second nature to me.

I wouldn't object to threads on image creation/editing over in A&P. This kind of stuff is fairly close to the topic in A&P anyhow.Bug-Eyed Earl wrote:I guess this could go in Artwork and Photos, but I think that forum is more for displaying artwork and photos than it is making or enhancing them.
An alternate method to overlay images is to load each image, then right click on the 'background' layer in the layer stack (far right, lower portion of the screen) and select duplicate. From the duplicate dialog box, select the image that you want to become the background and click ok. This technique requires less work than Spanky's method and is therefore less error prone.

and some words of advice: saying that you didn't get a manual is a good clue that you're using warez. I've seen some boards that will ban people just for talking about warez. I'm not suggesting that here, but if you're gonna rip off a big company, keep it under your hat
Also, anti-spyware won't always cover your ass. I've heard rumors that new versions of Adobe products are network aware and 'call' the home office to check if the software is legit or not. I have no idea if this is true, but something to keep in mind...
As far as cutting/pasting, use the keyboard. Those shortcuts will increase your productivity by 10x. I rarely use the mouse anymore when PSing, slows me down too much.

Hey! Not all of us have the manual. I was given Photoshop as a second-hand gift, without the manual..

Well, yeah, there's legit reasons to have expensive software w/o manuals (I got PSv4 when my Dad's print-shop closed), but most people aren't that lucky and warez are pretty easy to come by.HemlockGrey wrote:Hey! if you use warez, dont shout it out on message boards. it might cause problems for the owner of the board if warez are discussed on the board.
