HEY!

Post by haas mark »

I happen to have come back after two days' hiatus...

And I have a problem with my comp. I am trying to install Windows 98 on my comp, and it works fine in Safe Mode, but apparently, even after I converted it to FAT32, it still doesn't want to boot in normal mode. Should I wait until I have the Win95 disks back and reinstall Win95 or should I attempt to figure out Win98? Also, it doesn't recognize my CD drive, and I need to install my Enthernet card, as well. Possibly the modem, too.

He hates Win2K
Something about a computer with a bad install on it deciding by fiat when his AIM'll work that day or not...

90% of the problem is win98. and i suspect the other 10% is located between the keyboard and the seat. (sorry ver)

In my experience it's 10% OS, 10% User, and 90% Other-People-Sneaking-On-And-Installing-Spyware/Changing-Settings/Deleting-Filez!

Well, I'm sorry I have an old comp, then... It WILL NOT be able to hold Windows 2000. So, I repeat, should I go on with Windows 98, or should I stay at WIndows 95? And, no, I really am not big on Windows 2000 anyways. Matter of personal preference, take it or leave it.

Go with 98. 95 is such a cludgy piece of shit it's a surprise it even works. Granted, 98 isn't a whole lot better, but it is better.

Go with 98. It wasn't all that different from 95 but it had some better qualities. I have Windows XP on my comp and I love it. The only problem with it is some games I have don't run with XP.
Be at peace with yourself. Enjoy life.
