Explain NWN addons and shit to me

Post by Stark »

So... what's the latest update? How do the addons fit in? I went to download 1.67, but there's different versions for different addons... but you can get them all simulatenously in the diamond edition. So... should I just download the one for Underdark, or do I need all three? Or what? Huh? :P

I believe you need the one for the most recent expansion pack you have; it will be a superset of the others. So if you have all of them, then you want the one for HotU (unless they've released yet another one while I wasn't looking).

Cool. The way they all had separate sites had confused me. And aren't there like sub addons, just extra tilesets and stuff? I'm glad I've got the diamond one, installing all this shit separate would be nuts. Thanks. :)

Yes, the two new tilesets must be downloaded separately and installed like a hak, due to their size (and, being haks, must be loaded into a module's custom content list if you intend to use them). The rest of the new content is in the patch itself and hassle-free.

What lol.

Seriously, I don't have any idea what you just said. Will it be more obvious when I install it?

Just... install 1.67, and you'll be fine for now. :P

NWN has an auto updater. Just run that and it will grab the correct patches and content for your version.

If you have Diamond ed, you will need to run the critical rebuild found on the DVD first before you can actually use the auto-updater.

I stoped playing NWN after a patch decided that Alcohol120% was a hackertool and refused to run.

Uninstalled and I will not buy anything from Atari again.

That's weird...I never had that problem, and I had Alcohol120% on my computer for quite awhile along with NWN.
