Since when are they the Legion in RotJ? I've heard this claim many times without anyone backing it up.
The Battle of Endor was not part of the Campaign mode in BFII so there should be no connection made between the 501st and the Emperor's legion on Endor, as the Instant Action mode is non-continuity.

I think people based this on what the Emperor said. The Original Nex wrote:Since when are they the Legion in RotJ? I've heard this claim many times without anyone backing it up.

Why in the Emperors name did they come up with some goofball ganster to provide a 3rd side? I guess it would have made too much sense to use Admiral Zarin's coup (with his focus on stealing superior technology and keeping it from Palpatine) from the TIE Fighter game as a 3rd side. That would have actually been cool and actually still focused on, you know the Empire at WAR.
And yes Stark was right. Lego Star Wars is one of the coolest games ever made. In the new one wookies will be able to rip arms out of peoples sockets and you can mix and match parts of unlocked characters to create a character in free play mode. Sweet.

Yeah, why can't they just be extra-canonical scenes in games, or why can't the movie missions be extras or something, kind of like in the Rogue Squadron games. Its stupid to pigeonhole the canon by forcing the 501st into everything just because the game featured them in the films in order to whore to fanboys.Mange the Swede wrote:Oh brother... This kind of "retconn" are becoming tiresome and IMHO they're quite unnecessary. There are far too many retconns now that doesn't make much sense, feels horribly contrieved and that feels unimportant.VT-16 wrote:Yeah, the 501st were fighting on Mygeeto (outside of Ki-Adi's chain of command), according to the OS. They've also been retconned into ANH, ESB and ROTJ, also according to the OS.
Sorry about the rant...

I wonder how he's going to even train a crew to run such a behemoth, much less get pass the command codes.Anarchist Bunny wrote:Isn't this gangster gonna have to come up with something like a hundred thousand experienced spacers and engineers just to MOVE this thing, much less fire a single weapon?
But frankly, I think the game designers are half crazed and really short on ideas to come up with such an idea.

Neat idea, poor excecution. A Black Sun fleet, post RotJ would make sense, but some two bit gangster is pushing it a bit.
Vong: No thank you. I'd deliberately avoid a game with the Vong in it.

I think they could be a good enemy for a new Jedi Knight game, no more silly magic staffs needed to create enemies capable of fighting a jedi.I'd deliberately avoid a game with the Vong in it
Also the 501st were Vaders personnel troops, I always thought the guys on Endor were more likely to be the Emperors personnel troops and that this could offer some explanation for why they were so over confident and lacked camo (ie they have spent the last 20 or so years guarding a palace)
I agree if they made it out that this new guy simply took over after the death of Xizor or atleast took over the majority of his holdings, losing some territory to the Hutts and other rival crime lords it would make much more sence and would offer a reason to be angry with Jabba but from what I can tell he is simply going to be some guy who springs into existance to conquer the galaxy!A Black Sun fleet, post RotJ would make sense, but some two bit gangster is pushing it a bit.
From the look of the mod activity I doubt ill be buyin it.
