I think you are making a jump between the specific and the abstract. I never said that all religions were harmful; I said only that you can blame a religion for the actions of people who are inspired by it. Don't put words in my mouth.

Sorry, I misread your post. I assumed by institution you were refering to all religion, but I noticed that you put Christianity in all other posts. Sorry for putting words in your mouth.

How do you discern how much inspiration a text had, out of interest? With the quran, bible, etc, it's easy to show where the antigay sentiments, for instance, come from, but then you get people doing stuff supposedly "inspired" by GTA, or say you got some muslim fundie copying the methodology and general scenario, but not the message of some white supremacist book with some terrorism in.

In which case, what the hell were you an Alyeska arguing about? I was under the impression that Alyeska's position was that you couldn't blame ALL religions. Of course, I'm not sure what that had to do with this Chirstianity-oriented thread...
