I'm living in Korea right now. There are some things I admire about their culture, but dog eating is not one of them. Of course, I prefer not to ram my personal views down any Korean's throat (that would make me almost as guilty as those PETA morons), but this is one of those aspects of their culture that I refuse to take part in.

When you're living in another culture, the saying "remember who you are" never becomes more important. Living here "Westernizes" you in a way that is not possible in the West. You learn to appreciate what you once took for granted.

Also, PETA keeps saying that meat and dairy products are bad for you. But, do they actually experiment and do research to verify these claims? Since animals, even a plague-infested rat is more important to them than human life, they can't experiment with those, and I believe using hiuman test subjects would get them in trouble, they probably don't bother doing experiments.

Sometimes, I wonder, if we took a PETA's daughter and a random chicken, and let them decide which one lived and which one died, what they would choose...

Hey PETA is not all bad:

Just a couple of decades ago, when People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was founded, times were very different for animals. Revlon was still dripping nail polish into rabbits’ eyes, General Motors (GM) was killing ferrets and pigs in crash tests, Calvin Klein was still designing furs, game shows gave furs as prizes, and most Americans had never heard the word “vegan.”

PETA has scored major victories for animals since then—our relentless letter-writing campaigns and on-site demonstrations resulted in major companies’ (including Revlon and Avon) swearing off animal tests—ditto GM. A takeover of Calvin Klein’s headquarters was the final straw for the designer, who announced, “No more fur!” PETA’s massive campaign against Wheel of Fortune proved a success when the game show stopped giving away fur prizes. And veggie burgers started cropping up on menus all over the country.

PETA’s confrontational style saved countless animals’ lives. We became the bee in many corporations’ bonnets.
In 1990, we launched a new campaign with a different approach—a poster featuring The Go-Go’s, who wore only a banner reading, “We’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur.” The enormous positive feedback from the public and media made us realize the power that a lighthearted, sexy spin could have on serious, life-or-death animal rights issues. Many people would turn away from images of foxes being killed for their fur via anal electrocution—but they’d line up (and log on) to see people showing their own skin to save animals’ skin.

It’s been said that “a picture is worth a thousand words,” but photos of the routine cruelties suffered by animals in laboratories, fur farms, slaughterhouses, and circuses can be so shocking and upsetting that given just a glimpse of abuse, many people turn away from animal rights messages altogether.

And although traditional protests are often considered “snooze-worthy,” the public always finds naked protesters hard to ignore.

We expanded our “Naked” Campaign and hit the road, striking big cities and small towns all around the United States—and beyond, as naked activists, male and female, took over streets in France, Japan, Russia, Germany, Italy, and other countries. No matter where the activists went, crowds gathered and cheered, and news crews followed their every move.

Pro-animal celebrities eagerly signed on to strip for our Fur Campaign. Supermodel Christy Turlington became the first fashionista to appear naked for PETA. Kim Basinger unveiled her revealing poster on Valentine’s Day in New York. Other supermodels, including tantalizing Tyra Banks, signed on to appear in PETA’s anti-fur ads. New York magazine devoted a Fashion Week cover story to the campaign, headlined “Does the Fur Industry Stand a Chance Against PETA’s Army of Naked Celebrities?”

We decided to keep the “T&A” in PETA by spicing up our other campaigns, including those to promote pleather, vegetarianism, and animal-free entertainment. Activists and celebrities alike were soon spotted wearing only painted-on tiger stripes to protest circuses that use animals. They showed their own flesh in campaigns urging others to lay off animal flesh.

I'm sure all the young males following their protests are truly being impacted by their message
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I have figured a way to solve the world hunger problem and please PETA people: Kill the petwhores and eat THEM. A future legal way to taste that forbidden food from a few threads ago. :)

Who are they, and are they affliated with the ALF??

BTW, I've started a "PETA in the Star Wars universe" thread in the Pure Star Wars forum.
BTW#2, I'll wonder what the PETA thinks about the Kilrathi.... (for those who don't know anything about Wing Commander, the Kilrathi are anthropomorphized man-eating tigers)

OK, I do not agree with PETA on absolutely everything, especially vivisection (for medical purposes) and leather (anything else just ain't the same), but I am a vegetarian, for economic and politcal reasons as opposed to animal rights, and I don't wear fur, either because, well, eeeeuughhhh!!

One of those two, yes. PETA has freely admitted that they've sent funds to a terrorist group.

I've did some more research on PETA, and I've found out that they found both. Scary, isn't it??

Did you mean "found", as in start, or "fund"?

Also, doesn't PETA fund attacks and treats against companies that use animal research, even in progress for curing diseases?

Also, I believe the ELF has done the following things:
  • Start a fire at a $12 million ski resort
Two people from the ELF set fire to several SUVs at a car dealership
New housing developments have been vandalized, or even burned to the ground by people working for them
And I believe there were more.

While it's angering that PETA kills people and destroys property, I find it even more laughable that so-called "pro-life" supporters bomb abortion clinics, oftentimes maiming and killing people.
