And anyway, I'd recommend Gnucleus as a filesharing client. I've been using it for some time now, and it's pretty reliable. One of the better things about it is the ability to filter out spamming hosts (a downside to the way Gnutella is set up). You can also run it in MDI mode (independent windows within a main window) or tabbed mode (like Morpheus or most filesharing progs).

I know. I absolutely despise RealPlayer and I take every opportunity to neuter it, but since their format is proprietary and a lot of people use it I have to have it anyway.Einhander Sn0m4n wrote:RealOne? As for Excel Saga, there ARE DVDs out here. I have volumes 1 and 2.

I can tolerate RealPlayer 8, but it's their RealOne player that I despise. What moron over there thought they had enough market share to try a Microsoft-like licensing scheme?Dalton wrote:I know. Ick. I don't really like Nimo much - I'm currently using ffdshow.Crayz9000 wrote:OK, I'm just going to go ahead and explain. Most of the .avi files on KaZaA, or Gnutella for that matter, are encoded with the DivX;) codec. Do a search for "Nimo Codec Pack" on Google; it has the most common codecs you'll encounter on the Internet.

Well, it works, which was all I cared about when I got it. I got kind of tired of having to run a half-dozen DivX;) codec installers every time I reinstalled Windows...phongn wrote:Ick. I don't really like Nimo much - I'm currently using ffdshow.
