Firefox problems

Post by mr friendly guy »

Ok, for some reason my favourites in mozilla firefox has disappeared, like for the third time in 1-2 years. And I am fucking pissed. It never disappears when I am on it, but say if someone else has used my computer I can find it disappears. Its almost as if the browser has rebooted itself because it takes longer to load up familiar websites and sometimes a screen appears asking to remember passwords etc.

Questions

1) can any one explain how the fuck this happens? Is this some sort of patch error or something>

2) how can I import favourites (if I backed them up). It can only allow me to do so from Internet explorer, which means I will have to open a new website with IE everytime I find one I want to add to favourites. Otherwise I am forced to manually to to the relevant website and then add in the favourites.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Copy the backed up bookmarks.html to the firefox profile directory. I think it's somewhere in c:\documents and settings\username\application data or something.

Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Import > File should allow you to reimport them.
