Meet Captain Copyright!

Wasn't sure where to post this, but it was on Slashdot so I guess G&C works.

Enjoy.

According to Slashdot,
"The Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency has set up a copyright education website called Captain Copyright. There is a section for kids with comic books and a section for teachers for grades 1-3, 3-6 and 6-8. An example of a grade 1 class activity: 'Present the following situation to students: Your friend is downloading a song off the Internet. In comes Captain Copyright. Ask: What do you think Captain Copyright will say? Encourage students to brainstorm. Then hand out (or read) Line Master: Some Copyright Laws.' In Canadian law it is incorrect to download a song unless you pay for it. They also neglect to mention that Canadians pay a tax on blank media that is meant to compensate artists for downloads."

"What the hell do you think you're doing, stealing from my corporate gods? We're gonna kick your ass because I'm fucking a thousand times stronger than you are! What's that little Jimmy? You can't buy the CD yourself because it costs you $13 more than cost of production, shipping, advertisement and sales? Tell it to the jury, ya punk!

I hope you enjoy working in call centers for the rest of your life, 'cause your parents are going to lose their Goddamn house, let alone your pathetic college fund!!!"

"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Can't wait to meet his enemies, because they will likely be Pirates, and Pirates are inherently awesome.

Also, what would be the best Parody of this character, I'm thinking of Infringing upon the copyright of this character, or perhaps parodying him.
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.

Yeah, but parodies are perfectly legal.

I like how they fail to mention that once something is broadcast over public airwaves (specifically non-cable tv and radio), then everyone has fair use rights to it.

Actually, copyrights are for ideas or information. Such as songs or movies.

You would be infringing on his trademark.

I just read the comic...

Surely they should at least be attempting to provide a reasonable analogy for copyright infringement, as opposed to the shite that is actually there. Oh well, it was never going to happen I guess.
