Grr...

My fucking mouse is wrecked. I'm relying on a old cheap shitty one. Maybe an optic isn't so bad...

If your old mouse is damaged, then buy a new one. If your house burns down to the ground, then buy a new one. If your wife leaves you, buy a new one.

If your Ultra Star Destroyer's reactors explode because your brain-to-ship command interface caused a massive cascade failure which propagates to all ship systems because you saw a disgusting image that was truly horrid, buy a new one (and stay the hell away from www.rotten.com when you're jacked into your ship next time!!)

The optic mice are nice, but ensure that you glide it over a monochrome surface. They tend to get freaked out by patterns -- at least mine does...

I have an optical mouse for ~1 year now and it works just fine even when used on surfaces with patterns.
I think it's better than a normal one.
