GTA: Liberty City Stories for PS2
I adore the GTA series and it may sound stupid asking this but is the newest game (formerly only avilable for the PSP) worth it to get or should I just do a drive by? I ask because I saw very little buzz about this game when it was first released for the PSP and that has me wondering about its quality.
Wherever you go, there you are.

Well from what I've seen it's a fun game, and the return to Liberty City is nice. Plus, you play Toni Cipriani. How cool is that?
As to whether you should get it, I don't really know. One of the complaints was that it had less features then would be liked, but then it was released on the PSP first. So did they "upgrade" it or just port it? No clue.
I'd say rent first. I don't think I've ever heard of a game go from being portable only to a console so I have no idea how such a thing would turn out.

Yeah. The "cut down" bit is basically saying, "Don't expect it to be another San Andreas" kind of thing. Because IIRC it doesn't have that many features in it (loss of helicopters for one, though hopefully they come back in the PS2 version).GuppyShark wrote:I haven't tried it on the PS2, but GTA: Liberty City Stories is a full-feature GTA game. It's not like it was cut down for the handheld.

And I am waiting and hoping for a PC port.

Yeah, GTA is best played on PC. San Andreas alone was classy on the PC. And it's so easy to kill people with keyboard and mouse

What I am really waiting for is the group that is porting both GTA3 and VC into the SA engine. The SA engine could house each game indepdently. Imagine playing the SA mission where you fly back to LC, only this time you really fly to LC and get to drive through the city to get the St Marks Bistro.

Well, I got it. I love the intro music, and cruising Portland again is a trip. I like seeing all the changes, and being able to say "So, this is where that goes in three years..." and so on.
I also went and paid my respects to the Original Portland Hideout. Which is still there, if (seemingly) unused (for now... ).
All in all it's a lot like playing GTA3 using the Vice City engine, but with a "younger" city (and no aircraft, sadly ). I haven't gotten too deep into the missions yet, but thus far it's been an enjoyable romp through familiar territory, with enough change for there to be some newness to it all.

Not going to bother getting GTA:LCS. I am waiting for the next GTA game. That and Baldur's Gate 3.

The series is over. What more can you do after Throne of Bhaal? You're either a god or you live your life out as a mortal. The story is over and should stay that way. Anything new they could add would only detract from the series, and would only be a hollow shell of a game clawing desperately at the name recognition.Enigma wrote:That and Baldur's Gate 3.

If they're going to make a new Baldur's Gate- don't call it Baldur's Gate. My Level 40 character would be a bit ... unbalanced.

The spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate 2 is in development now and is called Dragon Age. Not many details on it yet, and the few that exist are not concrete, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.
