After reading the wookiepedia article about this steamin pile, I seriously think i'm going to vomit.

Why the hell doesn't GL slap a god damned infinities logo on this?

I think it's funny that something so retarded is getting more acceptance now that it has a kewlzor looking ship. Sorry, this is what's been wrong with the EU for decades, and people crying 'woot cool shit' and ignoring it's low quality only perpetuates the situation.

Huh? Wha-? Eh?
More guns being able to do frontal barrages than on the 2D-planed vessels. At least I think it's an improvement. :P

Not that anything else related to this looks like it's going to be any good. :?
a kewlzor looking ship
A ship being the clue here. I've seen all those fighters, they look ass-tastic.

All LFL really needs to do, is put out an in-depth DK guide to the warships of the galaxy, from Kuat to Corellia to Rendili, Mon Calamari and Loronar, spanning different ages, and I'd be a happy man.

Instead, we get this. :P

I've only seen two pictures, one a 2D 'top down' deckplan (though it's really not a deckplan) and another which seems to depict it in a scene. I don't really get 'space pyramid' vibes off it though.

On the profile pages, there's more in the background. They look pyramidal.

Y'know, reading through all this and the Wookiepedia stuff, all I can say is that-- to be honest-- this "Legacy" stuff does look like an improvement over most of the EU slop that's been in the trough... the problem is, that doesn't say much. I mean, how much effort do you really need to be better than the Yuuzan Vong?

What Star Wars needs to get back on track is pretty much what's been discussed here-- a good solid re-boot of the concept. The earliest a restart should take place is 1,000 years in the future. 2- or 3,000 would be better.

There's just too many re-used ideas in this, and they're trying to make it look like a mix of the Star Wars trilogies and the KoToR era, with a Sith Army and all that. Sigh.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!

Am i the only one, who thinks Darth Kryat = Jacen Solo?

That the Fel-family after its exposure to the GalacticEmpire and after that the Chiss is a little lacking in the democracy-department is no surprise. I also like the idea, that a galactic government finally gets its own Force-users, that are NOT Jedi.
The optimist thinks, that we live in the best of all possible worlds and the pessimist is afraid, that this is true.

Shouldn't it actually be more of a communist state? Space Commies instead of Space Nazis, as it were (or Space Imperials, whatever)?

Yes, I noticed that. An improvement in my opinion.

Where is the difference between Commies and Nazies outside the economy? (and sometimes not even there)? Replace arians with workers and non-arians with capitalists and the two become indistingishable.

A huge simplification, i know, but i somehow doubt a comic could go very deep into such a matter.

I've seen this idea elsewhere and that sounds believable (I haven't seen Legacy #0 mind you, so that's based on second-hand information). Oh, it's Darth Krayt (as in Krayt dragon), isn't it?

I don't no why anyone would think that the Pellaeon-class Super Star Destroyer is OMFG! I look at that thing and I don't no whether to laugh or cry. It's ugly as sin, like a fucked up Sovereign-class or something. Why not something halfway between a Vengeance-class and the Executor-class?

Still thoughs are some huge turbolasers. Are there any estimates on the vessel's scale yet?

Oh who am I kidding.... I'm sure that when the inevitable "Legacy" WOTC Sourcebook comes out we'll learn that this Super Star Destroyer is in fact only 5 miles long! :D Damn!

Is there anything in Legacy #0 that gives a hint of the length of the Pellaeon-class? I looked over at Wookieepedia and man, that ship is ugly. It reminds me of a beached wale.

I had one hell of an argument over this today. I did admit, with the changing times, in 100 years they might have different conventions to PT/OT-era ship names. Hey, it happened in rl. If I said anything else, I'd be a hypocrite, like McEwok. :P
You know McEwok must have masturbated furiously last night to the use of the term "Super Star Destroyer," although this use was neither unexpected, nor does it change anything. :)

EDIT: Practical or not, I agree that this is one fugly-ass ship.
"They're not triangular, but they are more or less blade-shaped"- Thrawn McEwok on the shape of Bakura destroyers

"Lovely. It's known as impugning character regarding statement of professional qualifications' in the legal world"- Karen Traviss, crying libel because I said that no soldier she interviewed would claim that he can take on billion-to-one odds

I would have been surprised had they actually used another term. But, as it is already explained years back, SSD is still valid, it's just not the single term any more.

The Pellaeon isn't so bad. Sure it looks a little ungainly, but as long as it gets the job done, it's worthy of the Old Man's name.

Now, the Crossfire and Predator, on the other hand...

Quite true. It takes very little grace or dignity to retreat ignominiously.

The size of the bridge, the notches, and what's supposedly turbolaser batteries, suggest a ship of approximately 2-2.5 km lenght.

If Jacen is Darth Krayt, then the GA must have been mighty big screwed in the Legacy of the Force series.

But then again, hell, who cares?

So, its barely a star cruiser, and an ugly one at that. I'd take an Allegiance any day.

If it is the new replacement of the Imperator-Class, why not?

ISDs are already pyramidal in shape, however not nearly as pronouced, nor do they have their main batteries placed on the slopes. The hangar also seem to suggest a fairly small ship - way too small to be called an "SSD" if you ask me. The different shape gives it perhaps 2.5 ISD masses where an ASD of 2.8 km would have 5 ISD masses.

After looking over Legacy, I have to say that while it's obvious that they recycle tried and true ideas, we should really compare it to what LB do when they try something new: the Vong and the Killiks. Basically it's an improvement over crap, though that's not saying very much.
