Philosophy website recommendations?
Someone has asked me if I can recommend him some philosophy websites. He's looking for something with some historical context surrounding the development of the ideas and without all the jargon and without being too dry. I am unable to help him so I'm going to use my SD.net lifeline and appeal to the collective knowledge of you guys. Any recommendations?

In general, books would serve better than the internet, but I can still recommend the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Other than that, I haven't come across any good websites that cover philosophy in general and still do so in any reasonable amount of detail.

For a somewhat left-field approach to philosophy, there's always Robert Anton Wilson's website. Just remember to expect a sudden sharp turn at right angles to reality.
