This is how to save the series make it a survivor show.
A take all the TNG trek characters
B stick em on a deserted planet no intellegint beings
C give each person a weapon and survival pack
D tell em that they have one weekk to find the one man escape pod that will take em off the rock before the Star goes Nova
E forget to pace the escape pod or just make it malfunction

B. So it is still a deserted planet with NO intellegint beings.
C. A real weapon, like a sharp stick.
D. Ready.....Wait for it........Go.
E. The solar radiation is effecting the polerized, ion flux and is making the quantum calibration of the positive feedback loop failing so in short, you can't open the door.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
