EVE/MMO Account Question

Post by Stark »

I'm thinking of getting a full account for EVE, but I've never played a pay-per-month MMO before. I'm curious to know if your account persists if you stop paying for a period. I've heard many people in many different games stop paying (and playing) for months at a time, and return to the account later: is this normal? I imagine it wouldn't make much sense to delete the account from a return-players perspective.

Most games don't have a deadline for deletion, or they have a very long one. WoW for example, never deletes your account and eagerly awaits your return to sniffing their crack.

...I wanna play WoW now but I don't wanna... ;_;

LOL Yeah, I know plenty of people who let their WOW subscrition lapse for many months, and everythings okay. I guess no worries then. :)

My friend reactivated his EVE account after it had been inactive for months. Not only was the account restored, he was able to continue training the skill he had left it on during the inactive period. :D
The Excellent Prismatic Spray. For when you absolutely, positively must kill a motherfucker. Accept no substitutions. Contact a magician of the later Aeons for details. Some conditions may apply.

No. So if you're going to let it lapse before reactivating, make sure that you're training something long before the account is deactivated.

From what I hear, final fantasy is the only MMO that will actually delete your account after more than a few months of deactivation.

The eve policy is that accounts stay for at least 6 months. But the devs have stated a few times they've never actually deleted any old accounts.

And with eve if you cancel you sub but set a long skill training, it will continue training.
