If we killed all the idiots, people would become few and far between, and anarchy would rise.

Also, it would be possible that the qualitifcations for being an idiot covered more people, and we'd have to kill them. This would continue ontil one guy is left cutting off hid "stupid" limbs. Then, he'd be the idiot.

Actually, it's probable that the idiot threshold would rise - someone with the IQ of the average 3-6 year old. If we cut the bottom half of the IQ scale out of the gene pool, then the average 3-6 year old would score higher on IQ tests.

NOT that I believe that IQ tests are anything but a big pile of bullshit, and that IQ has anything to do with the actual 'intelligence' of a person, which CANNOT be quantified or measured with any reliability, nor is it innate to the degree that any sort of eugenics program would work.

In other words, more idiots would be born.

If we killed all of the idiots there would be a power vacuum, as we'd lose many leaders. Also no-one would do grunt work like menial labour etc. Idiots are a necessary evil.

If we eliminate everyone with below-average intelligence (let's assume that it's done by magic, so that the issue of practicality does not enter the equation), that's 3 billion dead.

If we eliminate everyone who refuses to think rationally, that will be most political leaders, the entire populations of most fundie nations, most of the American "Bible Belt", a whole lot of closed, rural communities, and all of Hollywood.

Conclusion: option #1 will be random killing, distributed evenly throughout the world population. It will not hit any particular nation or industry. Option #2 would be far more selective, wiping out certain nations, regions, and industries almost entirely.

That brings up an interesting point. One episode of 'Connections' talked about the economic boom that resulted after the Black plague. Basically, with one third dead, the survivors had 50% more wealth.

Would the same thing happen when all the idiots died.
