Just another moron in my inbox. How old do you guys think this little twerp is?
Mike McPhail wrote:Subject: the federation vs the empire

what a load of horseshit!!! the empire sucks ass!
Death stars are build like crap and only 2 were ever build before a rebel faction took over the empire.
star wars condradicts itself when it comes to speeds e.g. Han solo CLEARLY says that the millenium falcon can do .5 past lightspeed that means in all actuality hyper drive is slower then warp considering warp 2 would be more then twice as fast so first off the empire shouldnt be able to move very far at all, maybe this "galaxy" far far away is actually a very small compact galaxy compared to the milky way!
I have no clue as to where you get your information regarding proposed GW on weopons it is obviously flawed. give me a break "turbo lasers" what the hells that garbage? any form of laser wouldnt amount to trillions of GWs of power!!
another ability of the federation that you so conveniently forget is the use of time travel in many many star trek episodes and movies it is shown how federation ships can move through time , with this ability it doesnt even matter how big your crumby empire is the federation would just go back in time and dismantle the empire b4 it even starts!! another disadvantage to starwars is the lack of holographic imagery the only holo technology is used to convey messages from one system to another in trek we can use our holographic projectors to project images of other ships throwing off your stoneage empire ships not to mention cloaking technology (even tho it is illegal in the federation) I highly doubt it wouldnt be used against the empire. Another element in Trek is the use of alliances and even tho u might not want to include other races in the battle, in all fairness the federations new allies such as the klingons and (from the looks of nemesis's ending) the romulans would join in the fight against a "so called" threat to the alpha quadrant. not to mention the empire is a bunch of crap and unlike the federation it was destroyed by a band of rebels!!
while the federation lives on!! so kiss my ass star wars geek!! go ahead and try to disprove me Id love to hear your feeble imperialistic propaganda!!

He immediately sent a second, similarly mindless message:
Mike McPhail wrote:Subject: Your site is rediculous

E-Mail: Intergalactic_gamma_goblin@hotmail.com

you twist everything to suit you imperial bias your site is full of half truths and carefully portrayed deceptions half of the things you say make little to no sense!!!!!
Of course turbo lasers are lasers!!! you moron! you think george lucas had no clue there was something called a laser? he just added the word turbo to it!! at least trek was a bit more creative!! all turbo lasers are, are glorified lasers! and as far your thing about imperial fighters, of course they are crap the cheesy little falcon took 4 of them out at one time and that ship was a hunk of shit every one in the star wars movies that ever comes into contact with it even comments on it being a hunk of shit not to mention the amount of time it spends being repaired!! now as far as starfleet officers vs anyone including jedi. any starfleet officer could immobalize a jedi with a phaser beam unlike blasters the beam is continuous and wouldnt be able to be blocked by lightsabres and if that failed phasers have a wide dispersion beam wich would clearly imobalize any one other then possibly darth sidius!
another thing Id like to ask is why is it the federation vs the Empire? in most movies the villains are usually portrayed as grossly over powered having the empire vs the federation isnt a clear demonstration of star wars vs star trek as you dismiss so quikly a more truthfull way would either to have the rebels vs the federation or the borg and/or Q,romulans or reamons vs the empire in which case the empire would fall to every one exept possibly the romulans. another thing I tend to wonder about is you, favouring an almost communistic, evil dictatorship known to every one as an empire maybe the US government needs to be informed of your ideological bias ha ha ha I like both trek and star wars but trek is clearly better not only in terms of the technology and what not but the fact that theres been 6 tv series and 10 movies for trek and only 6 movies for star wars leaving you guys to rely on books to get your so called "canon" evidence wowee a book feel proud of all those star wars books theres great visual affects inside them hahahaha

I say 13-16. Old enough to be a moron, young enough to think that that makes him an authority on something.

From the looks of it, he just summarized the Trekkie side of the deabte.

I'm not even going to try to read through that...

However, if you want to see some really moronic commentary, you should take a look at some of the e-mails I receive on a branding e-mail list that I made the mistake of subscribing to. Imagine something like what you just posted, albeit written by a 20-35 year old graphics designer who bills companies for what amounts to his thinking (or presumably, lack thereof).

I see that, much like Stephen Colbert, he's not a fan of books. I'm shocked, considering how articulate and intelligent he is.

I don't know, Darth Wong, he does raise some pretty good points. I mean, any starfleet officer could immobalize a jedi with a phaser beam unlike blasters the beam is continuous and wouldnt be able to be blocked by lightsabres and if that failed phasers have a wide dispersion beam wich would clearly imobalize any one.

Excepting Darth Sidius, of course.

I think it would be fitting that you compose an appropriately self-depreciatory public apology and concession and deliever it to him before you shut down SD.net and flee from the Internet forever. It is only proper, in the face of such overwhelming logical ability.

Every time one of these goons rants on for a superdense paragraph of nonsense, it's great. They always have to include the Magic Talisman, the Ultimate Defence - 'they like both Star Wars and Star Trek'. They seem, without fail, to use this line, regardless of how meaningless it is. Should we go easier on him because he likes both?

I like the way they assume that I must hate Star Trek because I think a Federation ship would be swatted like a fly. How the fuck do they think I know all this shit about Star Trek if I never liked the show? I fully admit I don't like the more recent spin-offs, but it would be sheer idiocy to think that someone who knows as much about Star Trek as I do is not a fan. It's not like a single movie; you have to watch a lot of Star Trek to accumulate this level of information.

Well that's it - they're far more balanced on the issue than you, so clearly you must be wrong. Isn't that how it works in highschool? :)

Age? Somewhere between 15-17, and he ascribes to the wall of text format.

Some nuggets I love is .5 past lightspeed...and when you really take that apart, most people that have some brain cell working does see the flaw in his statement. But hey, turd bucket here uses this as one of his defining points. His final statement in his first e-mail is just great :) . Though I love his "You guyz only have 6 movies!!!...and books, wez got 10 MOVIES and 6 TV shows!!!!"

Once again, a moron displays his complete and utter failure to comprehend that there is a difference between subjective (dis)liking of a work of fiction versus objective quantification of military power of fictional universes. After all, both concepts have "fiction" in them, so they must be the same thing, right?

Just like every single damned "Star Trek fan" who feels the need to "defend the honour" of his favourite work.

How did you old-timers maintain your sanity back in the Usenet days of this debate?

I hate to say this but, he could be 19. I've seen some morons at that age and older who can bearly type, at all, and don't wouldn't know what sentence construction means if you gave them a ten minute presentation on it.

Maybe, but it is entirely possible he's flunked a couple of grades (and judging by the disturbing lack of intelligence displayed, entirely possible) thereby making him still a high school student. :)

Geez, that block of shit is really like a checklist of "arguments" that is always find in some local .vs forums where I used to post, from the ".5 past lightspeed" and "turbolasers" right down to the "you're not a fan". I suppose that's good to reminder me why I stop posting on such hellholes.
