I went to look at Fundies Say the Darndest Things today. I've been visiting that site rather regularly and in most cases, it's mostly harmless stuff. However, today I became nauseated. These are some of the claimes made by a person holding a M.D:
Very few people realize that the Zionist Jewish version of the “Holocaust”, what the revisionists refer to as the Holocaust Hoax, is the CENTERPIECE of the Zionist Jews’ Plan to destroy all nations, control the entire world, slaughter most of the population of the earth, and reduce the rest to slaves. Without the belief in the Zionist Jewish version of the “Holocaust” by the average Jews, and everyone else as well, NONE of these things could occur! Their plans would be foiled!
The covert goal of the World Health Organization is to decrease the population in all countries of the world, especially the third world, by 1) vaccinations that CAUSE rather than prevent disease, 2) forced birth control, abortion and sterilization, 3) manufactured famines by weather control (creation of droughts), terminator seeds (seeds that don’t produce seeds), and withholding of meaningful medical care during pandemics, such as the AIDS pandemic in Africa.
How the hell can someone who had the brains to finish medical school and become a M.D., spout such ignorant, antisemitic, hate mongering and disgusting crap? Worst of all, she has her own website:
I checked Quackwatch, and according to that site, Dr. Day claims that standard cancer treatment (including chemotherapy and radiation) never has cured anyone, that all medical drugs causes cancer and that God showed her the way to get well from cancer when she had a breast tumour and has used her "insight" on patients.
The site also mentions that Dr. Day testified at the trial of Ernst Zündel, a person who had published anti-semitic writings and who Canada wanted to deport to Germany.
It can be read here: Quackwatch: Stay Away from Dr. Lorraine Day
Ah, that neo-Nazi? Quite fitting for a wreck like her.

Because I'd been unable to eat for three weeks, nor take in fluid for three days, I was rapidly becoming very dehydrated. I knew I could not continue for long without water. Then the Lord impressed on my mind something I had heard was done in medicine 60 or 70 years ago before the introduction of intravenous fluids. Dehydrated patients could be rehydrated through the colon by water dripped in slowly by enema. The colon can absorb water and even nutrition in the form of wheat grass juice, carrot juice, or green leafy vegetable juice. That's the way I stayed alive for the next few days until I could drink. At that point of death, I had decided to trust God with my life and He showed me what to do.
That's pretty fucked up right there. What the hell is so evil about an IV anyway? What satanic powers do a plastic bag filled with nutritional water hold that doctor Day objects to?

Not the bag, it's the needle that's satanic. You can't just go about poking holes in the skin and bloodvessels the Lord gave you. Not even in order to save a life.

I heard that fasting can cause hallucinations. Is this the case here?

More than likely. Especially when you consider that drunkenly behavior is also a result of dehydration, and that your brain starts acting wonky when you don't get enough liquids.

Doublethink.
The human mind has an incredible ability to rationalize inconsistent behavior. I can totally envision clueless fundies passing advanced science courses by "playing the game" and pretending to accept the "false" information that the "evil scientific-athiest establishment" holds as true. I wouldn't at all be suprised to see that as a medical student she held a classic 1984-type dual belief system: one that had all the answers that were convenient to put in tests and papers, and then her true beliefs that she knew very well she would flunk every course if she tried to use.
No offense to physicians in general, but it's not as if medical doctors are scientists or engineers. Hell, the profession doesn't require much in the way of intelligence beyond memorization of anatomical stuctures and physiological processes- in adition to the manual dexterity required to perform surgery. Again, no offense to doctors, but being an M.D. doesn't signify brilliance by default; only that you're a dedicated student.

Shitfire! Her stupid website froze up my AOL browser (it happens).
I'm really curious about how the Bible supposedly prohibits IVs when the very concept of injection (except maybe poisoned knives, if that counts) was totally unknown when it was written.

The same way the Bible supposedly describes asteroid impacts and Apache attack helicopters: A passage that is sufficiently vague and nonsensical can be construed to mean absolutely anything. ZOUNDS! TEH PROPHECY!!1

Not all physicians are scientists, but a good majority are.
And a person's personal beliefs/bigotry have little to do with what profession they are. I've met whacko scum from all walks and manners of life.
