My apologies. I'll edit immediately; I can live without the 80 pts :P

Of course this, as everything is open to discussion.
I'd just like a ruling on what effect infrastructure improvement has.

Of course, given my power's anarchist nature, it would be entirely reasonable for the Raveners to have to pay a certain number of points each month just to tread water.

I finally finished the post. Roger "Machete" Scabb* is back in business. In case anyone wonders about Roger's accent, I have no clue what I was going for, so if it doesn't sound like anything in particular, it's perfect.

*Yes it is a sterotypical pirate name, it's that way on purpose both in and out of universe.

Note To Onlookers: While it may look like the Khar are wtfpwning the Raveners, if you look closely you'll notice that his ships suck horribly. :P

Okay, no, seriously, the small escorts were like [1] pointers. The wtfpwning will come later. :)

I've been considering writing a script that'll do the hard work for us. That would pretty much give us the ability to impliment whatever system we like. The problem is time.

Updated OOB, ten days late for the second time in a row. Now my pirate enclave is more than just fluff. I think I also have the only smilie in the entire OOB Thread.

April, May, June. Dunno what you've been up to.

I thought one of the rounds had been skipped due to game slowness.?

No, although you might have thought so based on my semi-serious attempt to secure points from May despite inactivity, and I'm pretty sure half of the active powers (like 3 people or so) missed May so it would seem so.

I'm sure, given the fact that Crobuzon has been busy making everyone else's life inconvenient (;)), that you would qualify for the update you missed. Maybe it just got held back in Parliament or something. *shrug*

EDIT- Just a flavor post, because I haven't had one before. It's meant to highlight the fact that the Khar leadership, in addition to having a love of crazy religious ceremonies, are getting a bit antsy to go kill something, especially what with crazy pirates jumping in and attacking random systems. (If you didn't catch, there were 5 seperate groups sent by the Raveners).

We delayed June a bit. It seems to be picking up now, we should keep them on track from now on.

So I should have 3 rounds of construction so far? I'll add the third ASAP.

Yeah, you can stockpile if you want though. Rounds of construction are meant to be noted in the body and at the end of your OOB so you can quickly trace back what you added in a particular round.

I've also been kicking around the idea of major colony/expansion operations involving devoting large numbers of points to expansion projects which will then result in higher incomes.

It would be really nice if all the "waves of expansion" posts were more than just fluff.

It would be even nicer if only my "waves of expansion" posts were more than just fluff, but that would be an unfair advantage. The mods would never allow it.

How the current system works, if you've been expanding for a while you can request a status upgrade to the next tier e.g major. You need to get out there and become very agressivly expansionist before the mods will accept it though.

I'm considering adding something more concrete.

Just a quick note:

If you're intending to inflict losses against another empire with Privateer forces, you have to pay for their ships out of your point total.

Edit: That wasn't specifically towards Adrian, he's been PMing me with the details which are all in order.

I forgot some details of the IM conversation I had with Thirdfain. Just added them as a new third paragraph to my last post. The Crobuzonian diplomats also asked for a bunch of exotic materials, but since the only one I can remember is "rhinoceros horn" I did not write that part. I'll just say that the Mekidar reply was, "I'm unfamiliar with most of those things, and doubtful about whether the Republic has any of them. If you could give us samples and descriptions of how they are obtained, we could perhaps look into whether we have any of those things, suitable equivalents, and if they can be synthesized."

I've also been working with Spyder (over IM) on an epic space battle involving pirates, a helpless freighter, and Cruiser with fighters. It has maneuvering, shooting, and much running away.

Definately hiatus time. We'll start things back off if interest picks up again. In the meantime, let's have a look at how we could be doing things better.

Not to break the hiatus, and I'm sorry for the bump, but I'll be out of contact until around the 5th of September.
